Disposable Helium Tanks

Helium Tanks Recycling

Thanks but NO TANKS. Your disposable helium tanks are not accepted in your curbside recycling. Placing tanks in the trash cart is also hazardous.

For proper disposal of empty retail helium tanks puncture and recycle at our recycling centers or local scrap metal yard. Scrap metal companies may offer a small rebate for your empty helium tank. Read the disposal instructions that were included with your purchase or visit 'balloontime' website. www.balloontime.com/how-to/recycle/

How to recycle helium tanks

Balloon Time has instructions and a video that takes you step-by-step through the process of recycling its disposable helium tanks. Make sure each tank is completely empty, then punch a hole in it and remove the valve so it is safe for recycling.

Propane tanks

Propane tanks should NEVER be placed in your curbside recycling or trash cart. Many landfills, recycling centers, and scrap metal dealers cannot recycle unwanted tanks because of the residual propane inside. However, most propane exchange companies, including Blue Rhino, will take them and recycle them at no cost to you. Simply leave your empty beside a propane exchange display.
