How to get Ditto in Pokemon BDSP is a post-game task, but catching Ditto will be well worth the effort. This Pokemon has unique abilities, particularly for those who want to breed Pokemon. Ditto is a unique Pokemon. Introduced in Generation 1, it is a shapeshifter. Crucially, it can breed Pokemon without the need for a male and female version of a species. For this reason, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl don’t make it easy to get Ditto.

There are many Pokemon that are post-game in BDSP. This means you won’t encounter them on routes or in the wild during the normal course of events. You have to finish the game to get your hands on them. Ditto falls into this category.

When you have beat the Elite Four, you need to unlock the National Pokedex. This involves seeing all 150 Pokemon in the game. When you do this, you will also unlock the Poke Radar. Once you have done this and visited Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town, then Professor Oak at Ramana’s park, you can set out. Travel to Jublife City, taking the eastern gate to Route 218. As you leave, there is some grass south of the exit. Activate the Poke Radar and the grass will move. This area has between a 10% and 20% spawn rate for Ditto.

There are actually two Ditto locations. The Grand Underground Crystal Caves area will contain Dittos. However, the method above is easier to access and has a higher spawn rate.
