We are looking for an efficient and hard-working Dock Worker to join our team to help us load, unload and secure ships to our docks throughout the day.
A Dock Worker’s responsibilities include unmooring ships upon departure, maintaining accurate records of items received or shipped, and participating in all training required by the company.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo, maintaining accurate records of damaged or misplaced goods on the dock, following loading plans to ensure a safe entryway, and participating in all company training programs.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload cargo using suitable material-handling equipment
- Inspect the unloaded cargo for any damages or irregularities
- Tally the unloaded cargo and input information onto spreadsheets
- Communicate with other Dock Workers to ensure safe loading and unloading
- Ensure that the dock areas are clean and free of debris
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Dock Worker or similar role
- A valid forklift license
- Excellent physical stamina
- The ability to operate heavy machinery
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
