Water is oxidised within the plant cell, which means it loses electrons, whereas carbon dioxide is reduced, which means it gains electrons. This converts water to oxygen and carbon dioxide to glucose. The plant then releases the oxygen back into the atmosphere and stores energy within the glucose molecules.In the presence of sunlight, six molecules of carbon dioxide and six molecules of water react to form one glucose molecule and six molecules of oxygen. Water's role is to release oxygen (O) from the water molecule into the atmosphere as oxygen gas.Reactants of photosynthesis:Several simple reactants are needed in the photosynthetic phase. The first needed reactant is water. Water is obtained through the plant's root system. Carbon dioxide is the next required reactant. This gas is absorbed by the plant through its leaves. Light energy is the final necessary reactant. Chlorophyll, a green pigment, produces this energy for the plant. Carbon dioxide is used in the second stage, and glucose is produced.Several products emerge from the photosynthetic phase. Simple sugar is the first product and the main reason for the process. The conversion of solar energy to chemical energy produces this sugar, which is known as glucose. It reflects accumulated energy that the plant can use or that other species can eat.Photosynthesis produces oxygen as well. The leaves of the plant release this oxygen into the atmosphere. Photosynthesis produces water as well. The oxygen atoms in the carbon dioxide molecules contain this water. The oxygen molecules emitted into the atmosphere are entirely made up of water molecules, not carbon dioxide molecules.Note: To generate one glucose molecule, six water molecules, and six oxygen molecules, the photosynthetic method uses 12 water molecules, six carbon dioxide molecules, and light energy as a whole.
