MMR is the gauge of measuring someone’s skills in the game, the higher the better, however achieving those heights is not an easy way. Resetting or calibrating your mmr is one of the hardest things in dota 2, once you reach a medal and if you don’t like it you can try to change it every season. Every season you will get an option to calibrate your MMR.
You have to play 10 games to unlock it and hope that you get a new medal, the more games you win from these 10 the higher the mmr you get, it can also go the other way around that if you lost most of these your medal might be lower than before. It's a two way sword.
How it Works:
Go to Account settings and click Calibrate MMR.
This will cause your medal to disappear and you have to play 10 games to unlock it. Remember these 10 games have to be rank games.
