Draymond Green Defends Kevin Durant From Criticism Over Trade ...

The past few weeks since Kevin Durant requested to be traded away from the Brooklyn Nets, there's been widespread criticism in the media and online for KD due to his decision.

But know his former teammate Draymond Green has come out to his defense, rather than to keep pounding on him, and for this Green just needed a simple analogy to maybe change a lot of people minds.

Athletes are held to a different standard

Green assures there's a double standar when it comes to Durant and athletes in general.

"If Kevin Durant says, I actually don't wanna be here anymore, I wanna go to somewhere else, why does it matter? Why does that make you weak? Why does that mean he's running from something? I don't understand that," he expressed.

He went on to add that is like they don't let athletes make a mistake and try to correct it.

"If someone leaves Google to go to Apple after three or four years, and then they leave Apple after two years to go to Tesla ... No one's going to say that person ran. Everyone's going to say that person did what was best for their career and best for their livelihoods", said Green.

Green and Durant haven't always been best friends

Former teammates and champions together, these two have had their up and downs throughout the years.

Their most recent back and forth was on Twitter, during the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

After Durant was eliminated in the first round, he didn't tweet that much, but he posted a message after the Boston Celtics took the win in Game 1 of the Finals against Green's Golden State Warriors.

To which Green took note and responded two weeks later, after the Warriors beated the Celtics in six games to lift the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy.
