Dream Catchers: do they really work?

Dream catchers not only look good as decoration, they "catch" your bad dreams/nightmares throughout the night. They are also supposed to help you remember your good/positive dreams. Dream catchers were first used by some Native American tribes back in the 60s and 70s to ward off bad spirits throughout the night. Dream catcher is actually a handmade object which people hang above their bed believing that it would catch all their bad dreams and nightmares.

Legend says that if you hang a dreamcatcher above a bed, it will catch the bad dreams in the web while letting the good dreams through the hole in the middle. As the sun's rays hit the dreamcatcher in the morning, all of the bad dreams will evaporate.

But it is actually a thing for good charm. It doesn't necessarily mean that it should be hung only in bedrooms. The web like structure of the dreamcatcher has an significance. Just like the spider weaves a web so that their predator gets stuck in there, all your negative thoughts and energy gets stuck in the dream catcher web and only the positive ones get through.

Wherever it is hung, it is believed to radiate positive energy and dispel the bad ones. But the main thing is it should be hung where there is ample amount of sunlight. This way, when the sun's rays touches the dream catcher, it helps in rejuvenating and strengthens it to do the job. That is why you can see people hanging it in their cars in the front. It is believed to provide energy to the driver who needs to be careful and focused.

Dream catchers were hung above the beds of sleeping children to protect them from bad dreams and evil spirits. Legends held that the spider web design of the dream catcher would allow good dreams to pass through and float down the hanging beads and feathers to sleeping children. There are many people, who also believe that dream catchers have a broader meaning than just the legends related to dreams. For these people, dream catchers are good luck charms that represent good energy and help to neutralize bad energy — whether you're awake or asleep.

It can be a decoration, a metaphor, a spiritual object, and/or an object to "catch" your dreams. It is up to the person/dreamer to decide based on his or her beliefs, what the dream catcher will do. For most, a dream catcher relieves your mind and body from evil spirits in the forms of nightmares as the dreams caught caught up in the netting on the dream catcher. This allows for good dreams, which clearly are able to navigate the netting, to float to earth and enter your mind. Open yourself to the possibility of dream catchers and see what they can do for you.

In all seriousness, the dream catcher filters the negative energies from dreams, such as nightmares,so that the body does not absorb them. A nightmare causes significant stress to the body, such as teeth grinding, muscle spasms and migraines. The dream catcher, then, absorbs the negative energies that cause these symptoms so that the body can recover quicker on the individual wakes up. A dream catcher does not prevent bad dreams, it merely protects the spirit from the long term negative effects of them.

Sometimes referred to as "Sacred Hoops," dreamcatchers were traditionally used to protect sleeping people, usually children, from bad dreams and nightmares. Native Americans believe that the night air is filled with dreams, both good and bad. When hung above the bed in a place where the morning sunlight can hit it, the dream catcher attracts and catches all sorts of dreams and thoughts into its webs. Good dreams pass through and gently slide down the feathers to comfort the sleeper below. Bad dreams, however, are caught up in its protective net and destroyed, burned up in the light of day. Enjoy your dreams! Cheers!!
