The city of Dripping Springs, Texas is located around 25 miles west of Austin. The Gateway to the Hill Country is often the term referring to Dripping Springs, Texas. The area offers outstanding views of rolling hills and deep creeks.

The best way to start of your day in Dripping Springs is to stop by the Rolling in Thyme and Dough restaurant. This is the perfect breakfast and lunch stop, with the best egg, sausage, and pesto croissant in Texas Hill.

There are several points of interest in and near dripping springs: Hamilton Pool is one of these areas, located only 10 miles away from Dripping Springs and open from 9:00AM-6:00 PM every day. Hamilton Pool is a natural water pool where people can swim. There are picnic facilities in this area and places to hike.

Another fun attraction, just 15 miles northwest of the Hamilton Pool, is the Westcave Preserves. The Westcave Preserve is a limestone-walled canyon containing several unusual and endangered plants, which can be seen on guided tours.

The original “dripping springs” are located close to the west side of Mercer Street, noticeable by a granite marker. Mountain bikers, fishermen, and rock climbers will absolutely love Milton Reimers Ranch Park, with 3 miles of continuous land along-side the Pedernales River. A great recreational area in Dripping springs is the Founders Park, which has several areas to swim, play on a playground, picnic, and run around a sports field.

Dr Pound House Museum, built in 1854, is the oldest existing building in the city of Dripping Springs. It is open for public tours from ten in the morning until two o’clock PM on Saturdays.

On the way out of town, don’t forget to stop by The Barber Shop to grab fresh house-made brews.
