Introduction
Blake Lively is an American professional actress with an estimated net worth of $30 Million.
Lively is known for appearing in the hit show Gossip Girl and the films Savages and The Green Lantern. Frequently voted among the world’s hottest women, she’s also known as one-half of a Hollywood power couple through her marriage to Ryan Reynolds.
Acting Career
Blake began attending acting classes at a young age due to her family’s background in the field. She proved popular in high school as class president and a member of the cheerleading team. Lively was cast in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005, filming during her high school years.
The success of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants launched Lively’s acting career, with more minor roles in movies such as Accepted and Simon Says. Her breakout role came on the television show Gossip Girl, which won various awards and opened bigger opportunities for Lively. She gained additional praise and recognition for her appearance in the Ben Affleck movie, The Town, proving herself as a capable dramatic actress.
In 2012, she starred in Oliver Stone’s gangster thriller Savages. Her co-stars in the film included Taylor Kitsch and John Travolta, paving the way for her role in the Green Lantern alongside Ryan Reynolds.
It Ends With Us Earnings
Up until recently, Blake Lively had gone her entire career without any of her film earnings being made known to the public. Her tenure on Gossip Girl is a different story, but we’ll get to that in just a second. Thanks to the lawsuit Blake filed against Justin Baldoni, producer of It Ends With Us, her earnings from the film were revealed. We’ll also cover the lawsuit in greater detail below, but for now, we’re going to focus on Lively’s income from her role.
Blake Lively’s contract for the film, revealed in the lawsuit, showed an upfront salary of $1.75 million. However, it also stipulated that she would receive a “10 percent share of the film’s gross proceeds” as well as additional lump-sum payments for performance-based bonuses. This included the following:
- Box office milestones – $250,000
- Oscar nomination – $100,000
- Oscar win – $200,000
While the film did win an award and was nominated for five others, none of these were from the Oscars. At the box office, the film grossed $350 million worldwide. Thus, assuming that her backend percentage is solely related to revenues, before factoring in the theatres’ cuts, etc, she potentially earned an additional $35 million.
Gossip Girl Salary
For season three of Gossip Girl, Lively earned $50,000 per episode, totaling $1.1 million per season. Co-star Chace Crawford also earned $50,000 per episode. By 2011, Lively’s salary had increased to $60,000 per episode. Based on our estimates, Blake likely earned $1.1 million per season for seasons three and four, and $1.32 million per season for seasons five and potentially six.
Justin Baldoni Lawsuit
Between May 2023 and January 2024, Lively was working on the film It Ends With Us with actor and director Justin Baldoni. The film was released in August 2024, and in December of that year, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department (CRD). In her statement, she accused Baldoni of repeated sexual harassment and retaliation during filming. Lively also claimed that Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath had devised a plan to destroy her reputation after she raised concerns over their behavior.
To support her lawsuit, Lively produced hundreds of text messages and emails as evidence, all of which were reviewed by The New York Times before the story was released on December 21, 2024. In addition, Lively claimed that the work environment was toxic, including comments made about her weight and being forced by Baldoni and Heath to look at explicit images.
After Lively formally complained about inappropriate behavior on set, everyone agreed to her requests for stricter rules, which included always having an intimacy coordinator present during adult scenes with Baldoni. However, she alleged that, in response, Baldoni attempted to harm her reputation through social manipulation, turning the press against her during the film’s promotion.
Lawsuit Details
In response to The New York Times’ coverage of Lively’s accusations, Baldoni sued the newspaper for $250 million. A month later, in January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively. In his countersuit, Baldoni accused Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane of defamation, invasion of privacy, and damaging his ability to earn money from other projects.
On June 9, 2025, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s countersuit because Lively’s claims of sexual harassment were protected under California law. Although Baldoni was allowed to try again if he submitted a new version of his complaint by October 2025, he failed to do so. Lively’s case continues to proceed through the California courts and is scheduled for trial in March 2026.
So far, the lawsuit has not affected Lively’s net worth and is unlikely to do so, and there is also no indication that her career has suffered as a result of the case.
