Do you still have old unused accounts on your Instagram sign-in screen? Instagram remembers the accounts you log in to on your phone or tablet, but they make it pretty easy to delete accounts you no longer need. This wikiHow article will teach you the right way to remove remembered Instagram accounts from your computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android, plus how to make your phone stop suggesting the old username and password when you sign in.

1 Open the Instagram app. This looks like a camera icon with a multicolored background. If you're logged into your account, you'll see your feed.
If you're not logged into an account and you see the login screen, tap the cog icon in the top-right corner. Select the account to remove, and then tap Remove account.
2 Switch to the account you want to remove. If you're signed in with multiple Instagram accounts and want to stop remembering one of them, double-tap your profile icon at the bottom-right until the profile you want to remove is active.[1]XResearch source Advertisement
3 Tap ☰. It's the three horizontal lines at the top-right corner of your profile.[2]XResearch source
4 Scroll down and tap Log out. This is at the very bottom in red.
A pop-up window will open with all your current accounts.
5 Toggle off the account you want to remove. When you log out, Instagram has the option to save your login information to iCloud for the next time you log in. When this option is toggled off, your information won't be saved.
6 Tap Log out. You'll be signed out of your account and the information will be removed.
You can also delete the account's saved login info from Keychain (iPhone/iPad) or Chrome (Android).

1 Go to https://www.instagram.com/. You can use any browser.
If you're already logged into an account, click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Log Out.
2 Click Remove Account. This will be underneath your saved login.
If you don't see Continue as [username], your information has not been saved on the Instagram website.
3 Click Remove. This will remove your remembered account and return you to the login screen.

If you have already removed the account from Instagram but still see the username and password as a suggestion, removing it from Keychain will solve the problem.
Removing the Instagram account from Keychain will also ensure that the password is no longer suggested in Safari when you're using your Mac.
2 Scroll down and tap Passwords. This is next to a key icon.
You may need to verify with Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode.
3 Type Instagram into the search field. Now you'll see all Instagram accounts saved to your Apple ID.
4 Tap the account you want to remove. This displays the username and other details for this account.
5 Tap Delete Password. A confirmation message will appear.[4]XResearch source
6 Tap Delete to confirm. Now that the password is removed from Keychain, it will no longer show up as a login option in the Instagram app or in Safari on your Mac.

1 Open the Chrome app on your Android. The account you removed from Instagram might still have its username and password saved to your Android. You can remove saved passwords you no longer need from Chrome.[5]XResearch source
Removing the saved login from Chrome also ensures that you won't see this Instagram account in your saved passwords in Chrome on your computer.
2 Tap ⋮. This is in the top-right corner. A menu will expand.
3 Tap Settings. This displays your Chrome settings.
4 Tap Password Manager. It's near the top of the menu.
5 Tap the password you want to remove. This will be listed underneath Instagram.
6 Tap Delete. The password will be deleted from Chrome.
