Do you want to add some flair to your egg-making?

This weekend and next, we will show you how to poach, scramble, flip and fry eggs like the pros, so that you can have brunch at home while waiting for lockdown to end.

Yesterday, we shared top tips from chefs at Eggslut on how to make creamy, mouth-watering scrambled eggs.

Today’s challenge is less about flavour, and more about fun: we are teaching you how to flip eggs at home like the pros – without breaking the yolk.

What you need

  • One egg
  • Oil – Eggslut recommend rapeseed oil, but any kind will do
  • One small frying pan

Eggslut explain:

  1. Use a small frying pan and cook your egg on medium heat.
  2. Your egg is ready to flip when it can easily move around inthe pan
  3. Angle the pan down so that the egg moves towards the edgefurthest away from you.
  4. Thrust the same edge upwards in a smooth fast motion, so theegg flies up in front of you.
  5. Softly catch the egg in the pan, letting it land gently withthe yolk facing downwards
  6. Using the same small motion, thrust the edge of the panupwards to flip your egg again so the yolk is facing upwards.
