ECF Veteran Verified Member Dec 1, 2014 91 21 United Kingdom I changed the coil, and that seemed to fix it, but i've barely had the original coil perhaps only like 5 days? Can someone tell me what the issue was? •••

ECF Veteran Verified Member Dec 1, 2014 91 21 United Kingdom I was using my nautilus mini bvc, i have been using it for 5 days or so and it was working fine i unscrewed the bottom to refill juice then got that message, i tried different clearo's and they worked fine so im guessing it was that coil head? Any suggestions on what I should do in terms of do i need to clean or something? •••

Aug 11, 2014 253 377 Melbourne, FL, United States The "Atomizer Short" message indicates that the iStick read a resistance of less than 1 Ohm in the attached atomizer. This generally indicates a bad coil. •••

For a short on a factory coil there's nothing much you can do except toss it out and get a new one. •••

Correct, however, it can also mean that the 510 connection on the istick is not making connection with the tank. Apparently this has been an issue with some istick owners. •••

I'll assume you got the message after you screwed everything back together. Did you take the tank off the (is it an istick you are using) before unscrewing the bottom? Or did you leave the bottom on the istick and just unscrew it upside down, and it was left laying down with the coil-head touching metal and the fire button was accidentally pressed ? •••

- By any chance, did you check to see if the head/coil that was in it was tightened down before you changed it out? Sometimes with clearos, the whole process of opening and filling up can work it loose. •••

X2 You beat me to it. Make sure everything, including that replaceable coil is screwed down tightly and see if that fixes the issue - before you g replacing the coil. •••

ECF Veteran Verified Member Jul 17, 2014 1,203 1,945 Ohio, USA I got somebody a nautilus for Xmas, although I've never used one myself. Anyway, I was looking it over because the 510 pin on the Nautilus mini can be squished down, causing a hard short, if you screw it in too tight. It was true, I could use moderate pressure to push the pin in pretty far. This could conceivably cause the positive 510 to touch negative metal somewhere. The istick reads "Atomizer low" if the resistance is moderately too low, so this was indeed a short of sorts. •••

ECF Veteran Nov 3, 2012 77 213 houston I'm having the same issue with my eleaf, but the nautilus works fine on my other batteries so I think the Eleaf is to blame :( I hate it because the eleaf was a gift and one of my favorites. I am tempted to get another one because I like it so much but I don't want to waste the money if this is just going to happen again :/ •••

ECF Veteran Verified Member Sep 16, 2013 481 729 Riverside, ca Mine started doing that. It seems the 510 pin gets pushed in and reads "atomizer short" if you back the tank out just a hair it will fix it. Just loosening 1/8 of a turn or so. Watch the display while doing it. The resistance will go from 0.0 to whatever your coil is. I don't use prebuilt coils, mostly kayfuns so the coil most probably not the issue. If that doesn't fix it, take a toothpick and gently pry up the center pin of the istick and make sure it is centered and not touching the sides of the 510 connector.
