- oOpalgem Posted 30-09-18It’s not released in the UK yet, hence lack of reviews. You can sign up on their website for an alert when they are available to buy.
- tTuesday259 Posted 20-11-18I bought the pump and it didn’t live up to the hype - it leaked when you lean forward even slightly so changing nappies/emptying the bin/tidying up meant I had to go change my top and bra but in the advert they’re dancing around. Also not silent or discreet. I noticed a few other people left reviews on their Facebook page saying they had the same problems, the only good reviews were the paid partnerships. They have since removed their review section.See all replies (1)

katboshoff Posted 20-11-18Not tried the breast pump but am also interested to hear reviews. I do however have the pelvic floor device and it’s great! Not used it in pregnancy but it massively helped after I had my son. Would 100% recommend it!- mmeganlandreth Posted 22-11-18
I also have the breast pump and have found it very leaky! good to read your review Tuesday259 and know you thought the same! I feel so disappointed! I am exclusively pumping and so heavily rely on a pump...of course! I mainly bought it because we are going travelling at the end of the year and I didn;t know what I do on the long haul flights and when all around. It would serve it's purpose perfectly for that if it doesn't leak!
I emailed them and they said it's to do with positioning, but no matter how I try it's very hit and miss. I've used it twice today and had a soaking wet top every time? makes no sense! definitely not dancing around in it like suggested!
Im writing a longer review to publish on my website soon, will post back here when finished!
- rRachy030 Original PosterPosted 22-11-18Thank you for the repliesHow gutting that it leaks after all that, it’s hardly cheap is it!! I have read reviews that they are really good with customer service, so might be worth requesting a replacement?? Early devices will be trial & error I guess. You should at least push for a partial refund I think - not fit for purpose under the consumer rights laws!
- bBearwoman Posted 23-11-18Same here I’m afraid. I ordered the Elvie pump with excitement as I go back to work when my LO is 6 months.Main issues:1) It’s not invisible if you only get one as one boob looks twice as big as the other. There is also a light glowing out of your top. It’s quiet but not silent.2) It leaks badly if you do anything but sit/stand upright and still. The slightly lean forward and I’m soaked. So the same restriction as my wired pump. 3) I could only afford one and it takes twice as long per boob to express one feed. Which means 4 times as long as my double wired pump. I would not have minded this if I could have multi-tasked while pumping. But I can’t .Their customer service team have been responsive and have offered to send a new value. If this doesn’t improve things I will be seeking a refund unfortunately.

I've got one, and I also noticed the mysterious removal of ALL reviews on the Facebook page and John Lewis website as soon as some negative ones crept in.
Upsides:
- When it's working properly and not squeaking, it really is very quiet (though not totally silent - but most places have a certain background hum, and that seems to be enough to cancel it out). I've used it while on mic in an interpreting booth, and while eating my lunch. Nobody noticed.
- no cables.
- It does make one boob look big, but worn under a loose top it's fine. And one big boob is a bonus for someone like me who's never had any big boobs at all.... They need to ditch the light, though I found it didn't show through a thick cotton waterfall-neck dress.
- I didn't find it difficult to position, and it feels nice.
Problems:
- yes, they leak. But only when the bottle is fairly full, a problem I didn't really have because...
- it's not a very powerful pump and doesn't seem to get as much out as my Ardo or Mamivac rented doubles. I have slow, poor flow in any case and only managed to cause a leak when using the same bottle for my third pumping session of the day without emptying out the milk that was already in there.
- the app is utterly rubbish and gives you no indication of how full the bottle is. Your phone goes to sleep and you've "lost your place" so you'll end up using the physical buttons on the device instead.
All in all, it's a good attempt and I reckon the second or third iteration will be the charm. My hope is that an established player like Medela or Ardo will produce a copycat product that works better and costs less.

I bought the pump and it doesn't work for me either. The suction is not strong and no matter how I tried to position the pump, I just could not express more than a few drops. The support team told me it takes some attempts but I tried so many times already. It also does not help that there is no synchronized function for dual pumping. Very weird to have different sensations on each breast though I would say the sensations are not strong due to weak suction. There is a light button on each pump for pause/play that shines through clothing. Not the best thing to wear outside at night unless you like drawing attention to your glowy boobs. Also the app is rubbish. I could not connect both my pumps to my android phone after the most recent update. Prior to that, I could only connect one pump and even then, the milk monitoring levels are all wrong. Anyway I am asking for a refund. Conceptually the pump is good but in reality it is a huge disappointment. Sticking back to my Spectra! Btw the lifespan of Elvie pump is 500 hours, according to the manual. Not the best thing for an exclusive pumper like me.
- rRachy030 Original PosterPosted 18-12-18I purchased the elvie too & it’s not working out. It leaks, it has started to really pinch me & the shields have changed shape from sterilising in the microwave (ok to do according to instructions).I’m returning it, as I can’t justify the £250 price tag. But what is everyone using as an alternative?
