Eric Perkins To Leave KARE 11 After 25 Years

"I want to grow, and that hasn't been happening for me here lately," the sports anchor said in a video message.

MINNEAPOLIS — Eric Perkins, the TV news anchor who specialized in all things sports, announced Wednesday that he is leaving KARE 11 after 25 years. Perkins said he is grateful for his time at the news station, but said it's time for a change.

"It’s with gratitude that I announce my decision to say goodbye to KARE 11," Perkins wrote on Facebook.

"I am so thankful to all the viewers who have joined me on this journey for the past 25 years on the job! But the time is right for me to find a new path that allows for new opportunities and more time with my family."
