Advanced Search Erin Jill Andrews is an American journalist, anchor, and television personality. She is currently the host of ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and a sideline reporter for Fox NFL. A self-described tomboy as a youth, sports has always been a quintessential part of her life. After finishing her education, she began her career as a freelance reporter for Fox Sports Florida. Between 2001 and 2004, she held a series of reporting jobs at various news networks before ESPN employed her for ‘ESPN National Hockey Night’. Later, she was designated as a sideline reporter for ‘ESPN College Football Saturday Primetime’ as well as at Big Ten college basketball games. By 2005, her job encompassed ‘ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime’ and Major League Baseball sideline reporting as well. Andrews became the host of College GameDay on ESPNU in 2010, a post she would hold until her eventual departure from the network to join Fox Sports in 2012. At her new network, she took on several roles, including that of a host of ‘Fox College Football and a contributor on Fox NFL Sunday. Since 2014, she has been serving as the co-anchor of ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’, and at Fox Sports, she is a sideline reporter on lead NFL Broadcasting crew. Her mother is a teacher, while her father is a six-time Emmy Award winning TV journalist. When she was five years old, her family relocated to San Antonio, and 18 months later to Valrico, Florida after her father landed a job as an investigative reporter for NBC affiliate WFLA-TV. The Andrews have another daughter besides Erin, her younger sister Kendra, who is a professional dancer and actress.She grew up watching NBA games with her father and became an ardent fan of Boston Celtics in the process. She drew inspiration from the careers of Hannah Storm, Melissa Stark, Lesley Visser, and Suzy Kolber in her pursuit of becoming a female sportscaster.She was educated at the Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida, where she wore many hats, being a member the dance team and student government as well as the National Honors Society. Besides the traditional education, she also attended the Brandon School of Dance Arts In Seffner, Florida. Being a tomboy, she did not have many female friends in high school, preferring the company of boys, with whom she talked about sports.After she graduated from the school in 1996, Andrews enrolled at the University of Florida from where she received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Telecommunications in 2000.
