Hi,
my lesson is stuck on lesson 3 (https://rntlab.com/module-1/installing-the-esp32-board-in-arduino-ide-windows-mac-os-x-and-linux/). I am using Windows 8.1, Arduino 1.8.10, dev board ESP32 Devkit v1. I Has select the board to DOIT ESP32 v1 (on courses is no information about baud rate, but i has try to use 921600 and 115200 but still error). I choose COM port number and i already check at device manager too, com port number is correct.
And then open the WifiScan and upload to board. Here the message error:
Arduino: 1.8.10 (Windows 8.1), Board: "DOIT ESP32 DEVKIT V1, 80MHz, 921600, None" Sketch uses 623662 bytes (47%) of program storage space. Maximum is 1310720 bytes. Global variables use 38744 bytes (11%) of dynamic memory, leaving 288936 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 327680 bytes. esptool.py v2.6 Serial port COM5 Connecting........_____....._____....._____....._____....._____....._____.....____An error occurred while uploading the sketch _ A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header This report would have more information with "Show verbose output during compilation" option enabled in File -> Preferences. What i must do?
3 Answers 0 Vote Up Vote Down Best AnswerHello Jimmy, can you try this solution by holding the BOOT button in your board while your code is uploading?

It might also be a good idea to try a different USB cable like DK suggested, but I think in your case a capacitor is missing (you can either hold the BOOT button during upload or solder a capacitor). Let me know your results!
