Euphoria Fan Theory: Does Ali Die? - Seventeen Magazine

*Spoilers for Euphoria season 2 below!*

If you're a Euphoria fan, then you already know that showrunner Sam Levinson isn't afraid to push boundaries when it comes to the show's plot. I mean, bringing in a new character to stir the pot in Rules' fan-favorite relationship, creating a love triangle between Nate, Maddy, and Cassie, and the entire existence of Cal Jacobs is enough drama for one show. But, of course, there's more where that came from.

There is so much happening in the promo trailer for the next episode, which starts out with Rue's voiceover saying "Please, God, don't let Jules find out what I'm about to do." This could be in reference to Rue and Elliot, or maybe the mysterious suitcase from the season 2 trailer. Either way, things aren't looking good for the fate of Rules' relationship. There are also scenes where Nate gets close to his ex, Maddy, which may lead to an argument with his new fling, Cassie. I can't even handle all of this, let alone a funeral scene where Rue and Elliot are in attendance.

Some fans also pointed out that Euphoria is known for its fantasy sequences (see: Rue's dance number in the season 1 finale and Cassie's pregnancy this season), so the funeral may just be in the imagination of one character.

With the show's track record, there's a good chance the funeral could be an imagined sequence and not a real event. Only time will tell until the next episode.
