Rifles Explained

  • Rifles are the standard backbone of most arsenals, being a jack of all trades, master of none (but this can be fixed with some good mods).
  • They are designed for mid-range engagements, excelling at mowing down enemies with either rapid fire or precision shots.
  • With mods, you can make a rifle specialize in a particular area. For example, a good scope ,,silencer and Armor Piercing Rounds can turn one into a makeshift Sniper Rifle if all you want is headshots.
  • Most Rifles also have a unique feature: highlight one on the Weapon Wheel, and you can press one of the face buttons to cycle between Full Auto, Burst or Single Shot modes to suit your needs and playstyle.

How to Acquire Standard Rifles

There are several different ways that you can acquire standard rifles in Far Cry 6:

  • Find and Open FND Caches: This method applies to most standard rifles. These FND Caches are typically located in restricted areas. The weapons will drop somewhat randomly, progressing from lower rank weapons to higher rank weapons, and are not tied to any specific FND Cache location. These caches may reward you with Gun Powder or other resources instead of a weapon.
  • Purchase with Pesos: This applies to the same weapons that can be found in FND Caches, as an alternate method for obtaining the weapons. These weapons can be purchased from Juan's Arms Dealers or from the Guerrilla Garrison. Juan's Arms Dealers set up shop in captured FND bases. The weapons they offer will increase in rank as you increase your rank. The Guerrilla Garrison is one of the shops that can be installed at one of the three main guerrilla camps. Upgrading the Guerrilla Garrison will increase the rank of available weapons.
  • Complete Bandido Operations: This is another alternate method for obtaining the same standard weapons that can be found in FND Caches. standard rifles are one of several types of rewards that may be offered by Bandido Operations.
  • Complete Treasure Hunts: Two standard rifles can only be obtained by completing specific treasure hunts.
  • Complete Story Operations: One standard rifle can only be obtained by completing a specific story operation.

The weapon details below will indicate which method applies to each weapon.

Customizing Standard Weapons

Standard weapons can be customized at any workbench to improve their performance and change their appearance. There are as many as seven sockets, each with a range of options that offer things like alternate ammo types and different types of scopes and suppressors. Most mods affect the weapon's stats in one way or another. Not all weapons use the same mod sockets or offer the same options in those sockets, so the total avaiable mods for each weapon will vary.

Every standard weapon also offers several paint schemes to customize the appearance of the weapon, and all standard weapons except sidearms can be equipped with charms to add another personal touch.

Check out the page Customizing Weapons in Far Cry 6 for more details.
