Polaris has a full-blown line-up for its 2022 line. Several different categories are available, each with its own specialty. Some changes have been implemented for certain styles and brands, while other changes have been implemented across the entire line. And the Ranger, arguably Polaris' most widely-known brand, has multiple variants available as well. When the COVID-19 global pandemic hit in March 2020, many people were warier of traditional forms of entertainment, especially those involving large crowds, so quiet, isolated outdoor activities made quite the comeback. The popularity of ATVs traveled in tandem with that of outdoor activities, prompting Polaris to boost its lineup to offer a wider selection.

Multiple Categories Available
via Dirt Wheels MagazineThere are several categories of vehicles available in Polaris' 2022 line-up. One category is Recreation & Utility, for which Polaris offers the base model of the Sportsman. With prices ranging from $6,600 to $14,500, several models are available. These are noteworthy for their independent suspension offering a smooth ride and for offering all-wheel-drive. That said, comfort is also a notable feature among the Sportsman, and they are also known to be quite reliable. Available models include Sportsman 450 H.O., Sportsman 570, Sportsman 850, and Sportsman XP 1000. Another category Polaris offers is Touring, for which there is the Sportsman Touring series. These are known for being more versatile than their base model counterparts, as well as for having more premium features. The Sportsman Touring 570, Sportsman Touring 850, and Sportsman Touring XP 1000 Trail are three models in this category, with prices from $8,200-$13,700.
A third category is Sport, which is made for desert riding or riding on other rough terrains. These models are all about conquering that terrain, with powerful engines and increased stability. Available models include Sportsman XP 1000 S and Scrambler 850, which range in price from $10,900 to $15,600. There's even a Youth category for riders starting at ages 6, 10, or 14. These models are a bit cheaper, ranging from $2,350 to $4,300. These models emphasize safety and kid-friendliness in their features and the power is a bit lower. Available models in this category include Outlaw 70 EFI, Outlaw 110 EFI, Sportsman 110, and Phoenix 200.
Changes Made Across The Board
via Dirt Wheels MagazineSome alterations and modifications have been made to all the vehicles in Polaris' line-up, as opposed to just specific styles. This line-up was made with outdoors-driven people in mind, such as hunters, farmers, landowners, and trail riders. Control is key, hence new adaptable electronic power steering (EPS) and adjustable shocks, allowing for a more comfortable riding experience.
Transmissions are stronger with more durable axles and an upgraded front-drive, allowing for increased durability and strength. These new models also feature more technology, such as a new digital screen on the dashboard and superior GPS navigation when compared to previous models. An App called Ride Command is also available to boost increased communication between vehicles, or even for parents who allow their kids to ride Polaris' Youth ATVs.
However, some changes are still only for certain styles and models. The Ranger models have a new ultra-versatile Rhino-Rack system for gear storage, contoured-fit seats to boost comfort, and Pro Armor 8-ply tires that can more easily handle rougher terrain. The Sportsman models get Ride Command added to their series, which is a first, and accessory add-on kits are available to upgrade any 2022 Polaris ATV with Ride Command. The Youth models have remote speed limiting, helmet-aware technology, and boundary-setting geo-fencing available for the first time.

Increase In Outdoor Activities Provides Boost
via Action SportsWith 2020 forcing people to find alternative methods of relaxation and enjoyment, outdoor activities have proven popular, and with that, so do ATVs. With COVID bringing a renewed interest in outdoor activities, and by extension, ATVs, new technology, and further developments have been made to make Polaris' 2022 lineup more efficient, practical, and elaborate. More customers have been engaging in outdoor activities, sparking more intrigue in off-roading than seen in recent years. Polaris has modified its lineup to accommodate both novice and experienced ATV riders, hence the more expanded selection of offerings. Some of the models are built with a specific purpose or specialty in mind. Polaris sold out of most of its models in 2020, bringing in annual sales of $7 billion.
The Polaris Ranger Has Multiple Variants
via Powersports CompanyThe Ranger is one of Polaris' well-known styles, and it has several variants to accompany it in the 2022 line-up. There's the Ranger SP 570, Ranger Crew SP 570, Ranger SP 570 NorthStar Edition, and the Ranger Crew SP 570 NorthStar Edition. Starting MSRPs range from $10,500 to $19,500.
These models were made with a smooth-riding experience in mind, though practicality is also prominent, as evidenced by the larger cargo box, increased ground clearance, and additional storage that were not offered in previous models. Designed to balance work and leisure, the Ranger line-up is available in both crew and two-seat models.
The 2022 models also have approximately 40 accessories available, the Ranger models were practically made for customization, and it shows.
