External ringing interface module

Hi, Just bought and tried to install a external ringing signal. I follow the instructions and set it up as shown in the technical manual. However it remains silent. Do i have to program it sepcifically under "Shelf" as I have to do with S0 busses or V24 intefacec? What could be wrong? It is connected to a 4035T with external power to the ringing module. I bought the "Alcatel External ringing interface module" with ordering ID (Alcatels) 3GV28050AA AA 02. And it is supposed to be compatible to all reflexes, all IP Alcatel 8 Series IP Touch sets and all TDM Alcatel 9 series sets. Currently trying to get it working on a 4035T. You connect it by throughputting the UA link originally programmed for the individual set. Top MariestadThe probable answer

Hi everybody, Think I know now why it would'nt "start". It seems as though Alcatel sells the module without the actual bell, IA You connect the module by supplying external power (which was'nt included in the shipment I had to take one of the shelf. The you througput the UA link through the module. When the PBX generates voltage to the module it lets the call through to the set but also generates enough voltage to "drive" an external sounding device of choice. However the information about wich external devices one could use were not mentioned when I bought the module and it is not mentioned in enclosed technichal information. Am I right in suspecting that the lack of information about this module in the 7.0 documentation I downloaded from this site is due to that the documentation is for the US market and the module is only sold for the European market? This device isn´t even mentioned in the documentation of Release 4.2 . This interface ist just a "driver" relay to give out a selectable relay status. This can be used to drive anything else (electronic bell, lights, status relays ...). I don´t know what type you have there, normally it doesn´t need power supply besides the parallel UA line to work. Top

My turn now... Anyone know if it's possible to make, (and how) or to buy an external ringing module for 4020 & 4035 ? Code Free Or Die Top Mariestad- Quote

Yes Frank, The module I mention in the thread is operational for all reflex sets IA 4004, 4010, 4020 and 4035(T). What it allows you to do is connect the UA signal through the module and gives you an additional connector were you plug in a ringing module (buy it spearately, Alcatel has none). The module also works with 4018, 4019, 4028, 4029, 4038, 4039 and 4068. I'm not sure the module is labeled the same as i Europe or even marketed on the american market, should be! Best regards. //Fredrik Top

Hello Frederik, The part number that you gave is available for the US market, but it is under "SERIES 8&9 PHONES". I will give it a shot... and write back here if it works .. Thank you ! Code Free Or Die Top jiggsyRingers...

I have just fallen foul of the same problem as Mariestad. I bought the3GV28050AA AA 02 with the understanding that it was an actual ringer. Bah! I now need to go out and purchase a seperate ringer with its own power supply as the "Alcatel External ringing interface module" doesn't even drive a voltage... can anybody recommend a bell type ?
