Patented Air Multiplier™ technology.

Conventional fans use fast-spinning blades to distribute air – but blades cause unpleasant buffeting. Dyson invented the bladeless fan to solve this problem. Dyson Air Multiplier™ fans use Air Multiplier™ technology to amplify surrounding air, giving an uninterrupted stream of smooth air. Air from around and behind the machine is drawn into the airflow through the physical processes of inducement and entrainment.

Dyson engineers were tasked with demonstrating how these processes work. They used a balloon and many Dyson fans. See the results.

Safe for children.

The Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan has no spinning blades, so it's safe. And with no blades to ‘chop’ the air, it cools with an uninterrupted stream of smooth air.

Engineered for ease of use.

Conventional fans have limited power settings. A Dyson fan allows you to precisely adjust airflow.

Easy to clean

No blades means there are no fiddly safety grilles to take apart. To clean a Dyson fan, simply wipe with a cloth.

Touch-tilt

Dyson table fans pivot on their own centre of gravity. They aren’t top-heavy like some other fans, and stay put without clamping.
