Fans Speculate Who Nelson Is After A Cryptic Euphoria Scene

After the events of the first season of Euphoria, every character has to face the consequences of their actions. In the Season 2 premiere, Fez beat up Nate for messing with Jules and Rue (and calling the cops on Fez). Nate starts sleeping with Cassie after he and her best friend Maddy break up, only causing a fragile Cassie more emotional anguish, and an impending bombshell that would threaten to tear the two best friends apart. And after lying to Jules about her sobriety, Rue overdoses alone at home, just about at the same time that Elliot reveals to Jules her girlfriend hasn’t been sober at all since they got back together.

Now, it’s time for Fez and his younger brother Ashtray to pay up. In the first episode of Season 2, after stealing money from a drug supplier to pay back their dealer Mouse, Ashtray bashes Mouse’s head in with a hammer.

Aside from gaining a new supplier (Mouse’s even scarier boss, Laurie), we haven’t seen much of Fez and Ashtray this season. We don’t see how the two of them dispose of Mouse’s body, and Laurie and the guys who work for her also don’t ask too many questions. None of his other dealers come around looking for answers either. So far, Fez and Ashtray have gotten away with Mouse’s murder. That is, until Episode 4.

Amid all the other drama going on, we see a brief scene with Fez and Custer, one of his friends, who comes by with grave news: “Nelson’s baby mama's asking questions.”

Of course, the big question is…who is Nelson?

Don’t worry, you didn’t miss a whole character from Season 1. Most likely, Nelson is Mouse’s real name, or his accomplice, who only got injured and not killed. Fans online are also speculating, with some thinking Custer actually did say Mouse, but HBO’s subtitles got it wrong.

Whoever he is, we’ll find out in Episode 5. Mouse didn’t get to be as menacing as he was without equally powerful friends. If anyone finds out he’s dead and who killed him, Fez and Ashtray are going to have a world of trouble come their way.
