Fair Questions

When do tickets go on sale and where can I buy them?

Tickets are available for purchase online now at fordpark.com.

How much are tickets to the Fair?

$10.00 + fees (Online in Advance) Tickets purchased on site at the Ticket Booths are $10.00. For specific ticket information, click here.

How much is parking?

Parking is FREE for the South Texas State Fair. Take a look at the Fairgrounds Map to find the best place to park.

Do you accept credit cards on site?

Credit Cards are accepted for gate admission tickets. Most food vendors do not accept credit cards. ATM machines are located throughout the grounds.

What time does the carnival open and close?

The carnival opens at the same time as the Fair entry gates and closes nightly at 11:00 p.m..

How much are carnival wristbands and ride tickets?

Ride tickets are $1.00 each. Most rides require between 2 to 6 tickets per ride. Be sure to check the day you are coming to the Fair for any special carnival deals click here.

Is there a dress code to enter the Fair?

All guests entering the South Texas State Fair must be appropriately dressed, including a shirt and shoes. Face covering garments are NOT allowed. Guests wearing obscene, offensive, or indecent clothing will not be permitted to enter. YMBL reserves the right to determine what clothing is vulgar, offensive or indecent without any liability. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes!

What items are NOT allowed at the South Texas State Fair?

• Weapons (guns, etc.)• Sharp metal objects (knives, swords, scissors and the like with blades)• Liquids (except baby formula or those items deemed necessary by security at the gate)• Alcohol• Large Purses and Bags - we have implemented a clear bag policy.

Can you bring strollers and wagons?

Yes, strollers and wagons are allowed and encouraged. There is a lot of walking at the South Texas State Fair.

Are Firearms or weapons of any kind prohibited on the fairgrounds?

All firearms and weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on the fairgrounds.

Do you rent scooters, wheelchairs, strollers or wagons?

Currently we do not have a vendor to rent scooters, wheelchairs, strollers or wagons.

What day is Kids Day?

Kids Day will be the second Saturday of the Fair. Youths ages 3 - 17 will be admitted for free from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 p.m., regular ticket prices apply. Kids Aged 2 and under are FREE, and Ages 3 and up are $10.00.

Who are the entertainers for the Fair?

Is there First Aid at the Fair?

Yes there are two First Aid Stations located on the grounds. One is at the rear of Ford Arena near the Livestock Barns. Another is on the Carnival Midway near the Ford Pavilion.

We do not have local transportation or bus service to the fairgrounds. Please check here for directions.

What are future dates for the South Texas State Fair?

The 2026 South Texas State Fair will take place March 26 - April 5, 2026.The 2027 South Texas State Fair will take place March 25 - April 4, 2027.

Is there any seasonal fair employment?

We do not have seasonal Fair employment.

Rodeo & Bull Ride Questions

How much do Rodeo and Bull Ride tickets cost?

Rodeo and Bull Ride ticket price sare $12.00 per reserved seat and includes admission to the Fair.

What time do the Rodeo and Bull Ride begin?

Rodeo starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.Bull Ride starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday5:00 p.m. on Saturday
