Share Farmville

Centered in Virginia’s Heartland we are the hub of economic activity in the region and boast a wealth of natural, historical, cultural, recreational and educational attractions.

Farmville is located in Prince Edward County in the Central Virginia region of Virginia. Longwood University lies in the heart of Farmville, and Hampden-Sydney College, one of the oldest colleges in the country, is located approximately ten minutes outside the town.

The Robert Russa Moton Museum in Farmville is the national center for the study of civil rights in education. It was the site of the first non-violent student demonstration in 1951, leading to the famous Brown vs. Board of Education case.

The Manor Golf Club features an 18 hole championship golf course. Another great outdoor feature of Farmville is the Dick Cross Wildlife Management Area, which is nationally known for hosting bird dog field trials on its 1400 acres of diverse wildlife.

One of Virginia’s oldest and largest canoe and kayak specialty stores, Appomattox River Company, is located in Farmville as well as Amish Originals, where you can find fine handcrafted solid oak and cherry Amish furniture. Farmville is also one of the entrances to High Bridge Trail State Park, a multi-use trail ideally suited for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Its centerpiece is the majestic High Bridge, which is more than 2,400 feet long and 160 feet above the Appomattox River.
