Finn Bálor is one of the biggest names in the wrestling world and he has earned it rightfully. The sportsman was born Fergal Devitt on July 25, 1981, in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland. His zodiac sign is Leo and his ethnicity is Irish. Bálor is the son of Fintan and Leonie Devitt, and the second child of five siblings.

Bálor trained at the NWA UK Hammerlock before making his wrestling debut. He went on to win the NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship and soon began touring Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He won the Commonwealth Championship for the second time in 2005, defeating Dru Onyx for the title. Later that year, he began wrestling for the Millennium Wrestling Federation (M.W.F.).

He made his T.V wrestling debut with the November edition of the M.W.F. television championship. In March 2006, Bálor signed a contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and made his debut with them a month later under the name Prince Devitt. He teamed up with fellow wrestlers in the same promotion and participated in competitions, winning the IGWP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in 2008. In 2009, he reached the finals of many tag team wrestling contests but lost most of them. He entered the 2010 Best of the Super Juniors Championship and won the tournament, earning a shot to participate in the IGWP Junior Heavyweight Championship, which he also won in June that year.

He and Ryusuke Taguchi teamed up again to win the Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the second time and Bálor won the title seven more times with different partners. He also defended his solo heavyweight title and held it for 364 days in 2011. He participated in and won the 2013 Best of the Super Juniors Championship, making it his second victory in the competition. He signed a contract with W.W.E. in 2014 and joined NXT immediately. Teaming up with Hideo Itami, he defeated “The Ascension,” a tag team at the NXT Takeover: R Evolution. He also won the NXT Takeover: Rivals later that year.

In 2015, he was the longest-reigning NXT Champion. Bálor was picked as Raw’s fifth overall wrestler in the 2016 W.W.E. draft and defeated other players to win the right to compete in the W.W.E. Universal Championship. He defeated Seth Rollins and won his first world title, also becoming the first winner of the Universal Championship. After wrestling for Raw for three years and a brief television hiatus, Bálor returned to NXT in 2019 and continued participating in and winning championships.

The wrestler confirmed his relationship with sports journalist Vero Rodriguez in June 2019, and they were married in August that year. They currently reside in Orlando, Florida.
