Missouri English-USA I am writing another essay for my spanish class and need to know how to say "fish" in the plural form. Is it "pez" or "pescado" or "pescados"?? Or something altogether different? Thanks!! C

Tacoma WA, US English / US Peces is the plural of pez. Pescado means fish as a food on the table, not as a live animal. H

Mexico México, spanish In spanish, sometimes we use two different words for fish, if the poor animal has been fished -and it is out of the water, lol- we call it "pescado", the plural of that noun is "pescados". If it is still swimming happily, we call it "pez", the plural would be: "peces" Examples: 1. El pescado está rico; Preparamos pescado para cenar 2. El pez está en el agua; El pez es un vertebrado acuático Anyway, the distinction is quite subtle, so maybe the context would help you. Z

UK English Are you talking about the animals or fish as food? It's like cow/beef. If you're talking about the animals it's peces, if it's food it's pescado S
