For the first time in 18 years, five planets are aligning together, which would be a delight for astronomy enthusiasts. Find out the date and time of the alignment and how you can catch the spectacle.

After 18 years, a rare alignment of the planets is happening as five planets are aligning. This alignment would be the only one over the next many decades. According to astronomy experts, the alignment of three planets is called a conjunction. This is a regular event that occurs frequently. However, the alignment of five planets is a rarer occurrence.Another source added that the event is more remarkable as the planets would be aligned in their existing order from the sun.The planets were already visible in the morning sky, but they were breaking up. However, NASA stated that two of these planets would no longer be visible in the morning by September.When will the planets align?While the planet alignment has already started, you can view the alignment over the Eastern horizon throughout June. However, if you don’t have a telescope, the best time to view the alignment would be today morning, between 3:39 am, and 4:43 am.

For New Yorkers, Saturn rose last night around 11:21 pm. Jupiter was next around 1:05 am, followed by Mars, Venus, and Mercury which rose by 1:44 am, 3:33 am, and 4:11 am, respectively. As such, all the planets would be visible in the morning sky even without a telescope. Without clouds, planet-gazers can see the spectacle one hour before the sun rises.Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are the planets aligning. The planets would be lowest in the East and highest in the South.Previously, Mercury was the most difficult planet to observe. However, as Mercury climbs higher, it becomes brighter, making it easier to spot. This has also completed the line-up of the five distinct planets.This alignment would continue throughout June, and experts say the next alignment will not occur until 2040.
