When you're rife with devastation

There's a simple explanation

Meaning: When you feel depressed, absolutely like what just happened shouldn't have it's because God is causing it. God is punishing you. God punishes the innocent. And those he favors are all around

know that we must be resilient

Meaning: Rebel against God and all evil he has brought upon you, keep hoping, but don't lose sight of who you are in the process.

When I was a little filly, a galloping blaze overtook my city

So they shipped me off to the orphanage, said ditch those roots in you wanna fit in.

So I dug one thousand holes and cut a rug with orphan foals

Now, memories are blurred and their faces are obscured but I still know the words to this song

Meaning: When she was a child, a fire was set to her town, killing her parents and loved ones. She was then forced into the orphanage. Kids helped her out by saying to forget (as rarity puts it) "That you are the product of your home and your friends, and that is something always to be proud of." to fit in and not be picked on. She then dug thousands of holes for the dead soldiers from the war. She also had to sell herself into prostitution to survive (hence "cut a rug" meaning oral sex). The trauma of her whole childhood has left her to not call upon those memories and try to pack them away and forget them so much they are not clear.

Meaning: When you're upset, no matter the situation and you have no one to help you, listen for help from anyone around. Because we are all one energy, one family of peers we could help each other through anything. Because we are who we are, we can accomplish anything if we stick our necks out for others and put our heads together. She's offering to lead us and also to help anyone in need.

Meaning: Get lost in the music, use it as a way out because we're all one energy. Love one another. Stop crying and don't give up hope. We'll make it through this hardship, together.
