mrcaudill M So i was attempting flat foot shifting the other day for the first time from 1st to 2nd and it just redlined all the way. It honestly scares me a bit because i didn’t know if i broke something or not. I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me if it’s only after 1st gear? or maybe i didn’t shift quick enough? any tips would be awesome. #1 · Sep 22, 2019 So i was attempting flat foot shifting the other day for the first time from 1st to 2nd and it just redlined all the way. If you do it without launch control, don't think it is good for car. #3 · Sep 22, 2019 What’s the wait time for new engine replacement? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #4 · Sep 23, 2019 There is no factory flat foot shifting on the RS. Only available when you get tuned. You can find articles where "Ford said to flat foot shift" on the launch, but I have never seen it actually hold rpm's like true flat foot shifting is supposed to. It hits redline, and you just bang it into second with a power shift like you mentioned. #5 · Sep 23, 2019 This same question was asked during the launch control section when I was at teh RS academy. The two instructors mentioned that they are not aware of any such function stock, but even if tuned, are not entirely convinced that it is necessary or give a big advantage. I have heard it said by tuners that there is no flat foot shift and doing it can bust your block... Read more on this site you will see... #11 · Sep 27, 2019 I’ve tried flat foot shifting before and felt the same way you do! I wont do that again without a tune! #12 · Sep 27, 2019 I did datalogging for FFS (stratified tune) and it is good. Keeps boost at 15psi versus dropping into vacuum #13 · Sep 28, 2019 In this video, stock RS shows the driver flat foot shifting 1st to 2nd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #14 · Sep 28, 2019 This question was asked a little bit ago: www.focusrs.org

Flat shifts during launch control?

Does anyone have any information on weather or not the rs will have flat shifts during launch control? I have heard two reviews reference it. I figured that it would be bigger news if it was true? www.focusrs.org www.focusrs.org in there is a link to: www.caradvice.com.au

2016 Ford Focus RS Review:: Track Test

The 2016 Ford Focus RS is an amazing road car, as we discovered here. But how does it go on a proper racetrack? To find out, Ford brought us over to www.caradvice.com.au www.caradvice.com.au Where it says FFS on the 1-2 shift will get you your stock RS from 0 to 60mph in 4.7 seconds. I remember reading it in other places too. Reviewers were complaining about consistently getting in the 5 second 0-60 times and Ford told them to FFS, which fixed the problem. #15 · Sep 28, 2019 I mean yeah, you can flat foot shift any vehicle whether there's anything programed in there for it or not... and yeah it's the fastest way if you're trying to squeeze out every last tenth, but that doesn't mean it's not hell on the drive train. Ford never said that anything in the car was programed for flat foot shifting, just that abusing the the car by doing it is in fact the fastest way to drive, so it would put up good 0-60 times in the magazines. #16 · Sep 30, 2019 Class! Open your history books to 1964. Rev engine, dump clutch, feather gas so you don’t go up in smoke, stab clutch while holding RPM’s just below redline, grab 2nd, while sliding foot off clutch, repeat. Congratulations you’ve just mastered the “power shift “ Now limp your parents car to the shop for a driveline rebuild, like I did. Fast forward to 2019.....I’ll pass, thank you. #17 · Sep 30, 2019 The problem is there's a whole generation of drivers that dont realise that to get a manual road car down a track at minimum ET pretty much requires driveline abuse. They will all take it for varying amounts of time but eventually it will take its toll. The other thing is the margin of error when FFS is pretty much zero. You blow the shift and your chances of getting away without some form of mechanical damage/failure is pretty low. If you want the maximum acceleration with the minimum mechanical trauma in a non auto car then a dual clutch trans with paddle shift is what you need. Ciao Insert Quotes Post Reply
