Fonts Look Strange - I3 FAQ

Why does i3 itself and the terminal (terminator) look so strange and is there a way to fix it?
I only installed ttf-mac-fonts yet and could add some more if necessary.

Have you set a font in your ~/.i3/config ? my configuration file for example is:
font pango:DejaVu 11It requires ttf-dejavu of course ;)
But this will only set's a font for window headings and i3bar
If you are searching for a fancy looking window manager you should look out for something else. Maby Ubuntu.
