Former 'Dr. Pimple Popper' Patient Brittney Sharp Reportedly Dies ...

If you've ever seen a Dr. Pimple Popper episode before, it's clear that dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, truly cares about her patients and their wellbeing—and apparently, that compassion extends past a patient's visit.

In the most recent airing of Dr. Pimple Popper, the dermatologist paid special tribute to a patient who recently passed away.

The woman, Brittney Denise Sharp, who reportedly died on May 2, 2019, was featured on season two, episode nine of Dr. Pimple Popper. Dr. Lee helped Brittney, 31, with large wart-like bumps that she had all over her body that appeared after she got pregnant with her daughter.

"Pregnancy can do that to us; our skin can go whacko," Dr. Lee told her during her consult.

Brittney told Dr. Lee she'd tried everything to get rid of the bumps: "I’ve tried plenty of home remedies—tea bags, tying rubber bands around the big ones to try and cut the circulation off—but nothing works,” she said in the episode. She had been struggling with the bumps for a long time—some as many as 11 years—and had never been able to find a doctor who could help her.

Because of that, Brittney wasn't even sure Dr. Lee could help her, but she still sought Dr. Lee's help because she was engaged to be married and wanted to try to get rid of the bumps before her wedding.

“When I feel these bumps, they’re a little rubbery,” Dr. Lee said when she examined Brittney's bumps. “They’re flexible and spongy. You can feel when you push them into the skin and they bounce back out.” Eventually, Dr. Lee was able to help Brittney remove the bumps.

While it's not clear exactly why she passed away, Brittney's online obituary via Williams Funeral Home is filled with really touching messages about her—many of which reference her Dr. Pimple Popper episode.

One person wrote, "I was so saddened about Brittney after watching her on Dr. Lee's show. She was so sweet and so pretty. My heart broke for her when she talked about her Mom. Thoughts and prayers to her family, fiance and friends."

"My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Brittney," another shared. "I remember listening to her tell Dr. Lee about her journey in trying to get help for her condition and the loss of her mother and it broke my heart."
