reviewsThis place is very nice to live in especially if you don't want too much going on as of the city life. Nice people and good community where I am currently residing. Great jobs all around and I have met some healthy people who love activities and also respect others. Moved here from Alaska and it has been the biggest difference and a good one too!

reviewsFort Walton Beach is a small town. I moved here for income based housing as a single parent. There is a large homeless population here because they refuse to accept this help. It’s actually pretty affordable here, considering this is a beautiful tourist destination. The town is not racist! My mixed race family has zero issues here. My kids go to Calvary which is extremely diverse. The town has plenty of great ethnic restaurants as well. We could use more shopping!

reviewsFort Walton is a town with a lot of potential; close to bustling Pensacola and the beach scene in Destin. Unfortunately, political tourism has brought in transplants from other areas resulting in a lack of diversity. Education here used to be top tier, but lately it has seen a turn towards cultural assimilation. Additionally, the market economy is targeted towards tourists which is unfortunate for all of us who make this town fun for those whoa re visiting. Our downtown area has seen the doors closed on local businesses and many homes are being bought out by rental companies like Vacasa.
