Fresh Blood (Code Vein Male Reader) - Impromptu Rescue Mission ...

The four explorers were standing by the mistle inside the parking garage, although they are not resting like they should. There was almost no time between descending the ramp and discovering something that would put the entire party in a state of unease.

It was a small detail in the barren landscape, but one that stood out as a sign of life when all else is dead or dying: a puddle of fresh human blood. Louis was crouched to better inspect the puddle, though the conclusion drawn from it is the same for all of them.

Louis: An escapee?

(Y/N): There's also no trail I can spot, so at least the bleeding stopped.

(Y/N) had already decided to postpone his lunch to search for this person, but he couldn't find any more human tracks. Ashamed, he once again started speaking.

(Y/N): I know we should rest, but could—

???: Hey chumps, what the hell are you doin' here?

A revenant comes from the back of the garage. Red haired, full face mask and a heavy looking veil with armored forearms and shoulder pads, sounding very agitated for some reason.

(Y/N)'s POV

(Y/N): The hell is this guy doing here?

Louis stands up to face the man, retorting with a sharp tone I've never heard from any of them before.

Louis: None of your business.

???: Oh really? Then tell me this...

The revenant dashes closer to Louis, getting all up on his face. This guy is really pushing it right now.

???: Why would scum like you...

(Y/N): How nice, from chumps to scum.

???: Have the sweet stink of a human on ya?!

(Y/N): *Sweats in human* ...

He somehow manages to get even closer to Louis' face than before, accusingly looking at his face from side to side before whipping his face in my direction.

???: Especially you there, in the back.

He concludes and stares at me. I figured he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but man either he's dumb or wearing a mask is that good to disguise me.

Either way, he doesn't wait for any sort of response from us. Looks like someone is in a hurry.

???: The girl belongs to us. Put your paws on our property, and you're ash. That clear?

He storms off to do his own thing, and like any mature adult he shoulder checks Louis for good measure before jumping down to the streets.

(Y/N): There was a ladder right there, what a twat.

Yakumo: *Deep Breath* Fresh blood is some powerful stuff. You hanging in there?

He gestures to Luca, who simply nods. I look at the street below us taking in all that just happened. Yet the man is nowhere to be found now.

(Y/N): Hopefully the fall killed him.

As much as I'd love to go after that girl, there are a couple of problems. Namely the numerous lost around and the fact I'll possibly have to fight a revenant, which I can't alone. While I'm sure they'd help me, I also promised I wouldn't delay them from their investigation.

Yakumo: So, what's the plan now? We know it's just a matter of time until they find that missing human.

I turn back to the group and see Louis and Yakumo staring at each other. Yet neither of them look like they're having a hard time deciding on what to do, since there are no frowns or anything to indicate conflict on their faces.
