Industrial Furniture Upholstery & Assembly

The Industrial Furniture Upholstery & Assembly class is for those seeking employment as a production upholster in the furniture industry. The class covers the basic skills and fundamentals of upholstered furniture construction, including seat construction, inside upholstery, and outside upholstery. This class is designed to create furniture industry professionals.

Topics include safety, terminology, proper use of tools, furniture quality, problem-solving, and maintenance. Introduction of advanced skills will include complex fabrics and stripes, application of skirts and decorative trims, and channeling and tufting.

Program information

Location: GTCC Upholstery Training Building at 1111 S. Main St., High Point, NC

Duration: 30 classes at 3 hours per class, totaling 90 hours over 15 weeks.

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursdays from 6-9 p.m.  Program starts March 31st, 2026 and concludes on July 9th, 2026.  

Materials: Most materials and supplies are provided in cost of registration.
