How to Get Galarian Moltres

The Crown Tundra DLC

Galarian Moltres only appears in The Crown Tundra DLC which is included in the Expansion Pass DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Start the Legendary Birds Storyline

Objectives
①	Go to the south of the Crown Tundra to Ballimere Lake.
②	Head around to the east side to reach Dyna Tree Hill where you will witness the three birds fight.
③	After the scene, you'll be able to go to the Birds' respective areas to catch them.

The main prerequisite for catching Galarian Moltres is starting off the Legendary Birds chapter by visiting Dyna Tree Hill. Once you've done this, you'll be ready to start the hunt!

How to Catch Galarian Moltres

Objectives
Follow the route above to cut off Galarian Moltres.
①	Fly to Challenge Beach on The Isle of Armor to witness Galarian Moltres flying by to the right.
②	Go to the right across the water in the same direction as Galarian Moltres.
③	Turn left into Loop Lagoon. Go up onto the island in the middle and wait for Galarian Moltres tto arrive.
④	Catch it to update Legendary Clue 3.

1. Fly to Challenge Beach

At Challenge Beach, head toward the indicated area in the water.

2. Turn left into Loop Lagoon

When you reach the rocks to your left, you'll find a gap. Pass through into Loop Lagoon.

3. Head up onto the island

The island in the middle of the lagoon is your goal. Go up onto the beach and up the grassy hill, and around to the opposite side of the rock in the center.

4. Wait in front of the Den

Galarian Moltres will go past this Den on its route.

5. Catch Galarian Moltres

Galarian Moltres will spot you when it arrives and the battle will begin!

Battle Strategy

Galarian Moltres Lv. 70

Galarian Moltres can use Fiery Wrath, which is super effective against most Psychic and Ghost-type Hypnosis users, and Hurricane, which is super effective against most Spore or Sleep Powder users. Malamar can be a good choice as it takes neutral damage from Fiery Wrath.

Basic Information

A Dark/Flying Type

Unlike its predecessor, Moltres loses the Molten in its name to become a Dark/Flying type like Yveltal. It seems to have some Fire-type aspects in its move Fiery Wrath, so it's possible that it will still learn some Fire-type moves as well.

Fiery Wrath

Galarian Moltres's signature move Fiery Wrath is a Special Dark-type move that has the ability to make the foe flinch. The Pokemon may have high Speed to match this move's effect well and make it useful competitively.

Obtainable in the Crown Tundra DLC

Like its brethren Galarian Articuno and Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres is available in The Crown Tundra DLC.
