Eugene Curran Kelly was born in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, on August 23, 1912, was an American actor. Young Gene Kelly first started his career as a dance teacher. He made big screen debut in musical film For Me and My Gal (1942) in role as Harry Palmer. He got his television debut in CBS anthology series Schlitz Playhouse (1957) in episode "The Life You Save", in role as Tom T. Triplet. Gene breakthrough performance came as Danny McGuire in musical romantic comedy film Cover Girl (1944). He landed his Broadway debut in a musical "Leave It to Me!" (1938-1939) in role as Secretary to Mr. Goodhue Chorus, at Imperial Theatre. He made his solo directorial debut with dance anthology film Invitation to the Dance (1956), also starred as The Clown / The Marine / Sinbad.
