Description
The original Haakaa Pump - the Gen. 1 is the world's first one-piece silicone breast pump.
If you're a breastfeeding mama, the Haakaa Silicone Breast Pump is the perfect little essential to incorporate into your nursing journey.
Our Silicone Breast Pump is made of a single piece of 100% silicone and provides an easy, eco-friendly and effective pumping experience! Forget large, loud and complicated automatic pumps that cost hundreds and need to be pulled to pieces and cleaned thoroughly every time you use them - the Haakaa Silicone Breast Pump will change your life! Its compact size fits perfectly into any handbag or baby bag and requires no hard work to use.
The Haakaa Breast Pump is perfect for long-distance trips, planes, car rides, family BBQs or anywhere you would like to express discreetly, silently and quickly. .Just place over your breast and let the pump do the work for you as it draws your milk using suction. It's 100% eco-friendly and is safe for mum, baby and our environment.
*This product has been tested and certified in compliance with the U.S. FDA, EU and LFGB standards, as well as Australian DEHP and BPA safety requirements.
Features
- Express breastmilk using the power of natural suction!
- Soft and comfortable 100% food-grade silicone.
- Compact size to fit perfectly into any handbag or baby bag.
- One-piece design with no joints, cracks or edges for bacteria to harbour.
- No cords, batteries or assembly required.
- 100ml capacity.
- Easy to use and clean.
- BPA, PVC and phthalate-free.
- Microwave steriliser and dishwasher safe.
Directions
1. Sterilise your pump by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes.
2. Place the pump flange over your nipple – make sure your nipple is centred comfortably in the neck of the pump.
3. Apply suction – you may need to adjust the position of your pump a couple of times. Once the pump is secure and comfortable, apply suction by squeezing the base of the pump to start the flow of milk.
4. Once milk begins to flow, simply leave the pump alone to do its thing!
5. When the pump is full, empty into a safe storage container and reposition.
Tips: Encourage let-down by placing a warm flannel on top of your breast and massaging gently. While your child is feeding, attach your Haakaa pump to the other breast to catch precious milk that would otherwise be lost in a nursing pad.
Cleaning & Care
Clean after each use. We strongly recommend cleaning and sterilising your Haakaa Breast Pump with any steam sterilising system or by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes. Do not use any bleach-based agents or sterilising tablets to clean this product. Do not use UV sterilisers to sterilise this product as it may impact the lifespan of your pump.
Caution
Check product condition regularly. Replace if this product shows any signs of damage. Do not store near any sharp objects. Only soft bristle brushes or soft sponges should be used to clean this product as hard scourers may scratch the surface. Exposure to detergent may make the silicone in this product appear cloudy. This product is not a toy. Do not use this product for anything other than its intended use. Store product in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight. Adult supervision is required.
Please note: This breast pump does not have a suction base.

Breastfeeding Tips & HacksFAQs
My baby keeps kicking the pump off while I am feeding them on the other side; what can I do about it?There are three options to prevent your baby from kicking off the pump.
- You could use a Haakaa Breast Pump Bra or a Haakaa Pumping and Nursing Bra. This bra has a specialised dual-layer construction that allows your pump flange to sit securely inside, with the body of the pump outside.
- Use a Haakaa Pump Strap. Our Pump Strap protects your breast pump from being accidentally knocked off, as it is adjustable and hangs around your neck while you pump to keep that precious liquid gold safe.
- Suction the pump onto your breast facing upwards - providing room for bub's feet while preventing your pump from being knocked off. Position yourself into a "dangle" position, secure the pump to your breast, and let it do its thing. When you want to remove the pump, return to the dangle position to break the suction safely without spilling any milk.
Yes! You will likely capture mainly foremilk in the first few minutes of pumping (which is 100% fine!). If you want to use the pump to empty your breast, simply leave it on until the breast is drained to get both fore and hindmilk (usually about 10-20 mins).
What are the benefits of using a Haakaa pump?- Relieves engorged and uncomfortable breasts
- Builds a breastmilk stash
- Fantastic on-the-go pumping option
- No electricity, batteries or charging needed
- Easy to clean
- Catches letdown
- Pain-free if applied correctly
- One-piece silicone
There can be different reasons for this. A low pumping volume can result from not pumping enough, pumping too soon after a feeding session or skipping a feed. You may also pump a lower amount if you're using a suction level that is not suitable or comfortable for you, or even if you simply require more hydration throughout the day.
Being stressed or under pressure can also affect your supply or the amount you express in a session. Some mums even find that one breast naturally produces more milk than the other! There are many reasons, but if you're at all worried, check with your medical professional or a lactation consultant.
