This section describes how to get some free Ether form faucet.metamask.io.

faucet.metamask.io was deprecated - Do not use the following steps to get free Ether. Use testnet.help instead. See "Get Free Ether from testnet.help" tutorial.

1. Click the MetaMask icon near the top right corner of the browser window.

2. Select the "Ropsten Test Net" in the dropdown list on the top.

3. Click "BUY" and "ROPSTEN TEST FAUCET". MetaMask will bring you the https://faucet.metamask.io site with your account address displayed.

4. Click "Request 1 ether from faucet". You will see the transfer transaction ID displayed at the bottom.

5. Few minutes later, my 1 Ether arrived in my MetaMask wallet.

Note that if you are using the new version of MetaMask, the steps are slightly different.
