Whether you’re arriving from the airport, visiting from a neighboring city, or exploring the area by boat, Kirkland offers smooth and accessible transportation options to get you here with ease.

By Car

Kirkland is located on the eastern shores of Lake Washington, just 12 miles east of Seattle via the I-90 or the I-520 Evergreen Point floating bridge, and 20 miles from SeaTac International Airport. To get to downtown Kirkland take 405-N and exit 85th Street.

There is ample free and paid public parking in downtown Kirkland.

By Boat

The City of Kirkland and Carillon Point marinas offer guest moorage with excellent access to downtown shops and dining, waterfront parks, overnight accommodations, and local events. Kirkland’s Marina Park and 2nd Street docks are year-round transient moorage facilities available on a first-come, first served basis.

By Bus

Take the 255 bus from Downtown Seattle to Downtown Kirkland or the 235 from Downtown Bellevue to Downtown Kirkland. For details on public transportation and routes, visit metro.kingcounty.gov or call (206) 553-3000.

By Uber or Lyft

Uber or Lyft can deliver to you Kirkland from SeaTac International Airport or anyplace in the region. Use the Uber or Lyft app to request a ride

Parking

There is ample parking, much of it free, in the downtown core, at Totem Lake and in Juanita, and all neighborhoods which offer much to see and do for the visitor. If you arrive by car, we invite you to park it and leave it, enjoying the amble through the downtown shops, boutiques, cafe's and waterfront parks that Kirkland is famous for. A green city, Kirkland offers several places for electric vehicles to charge while visitors enjoy downtown. The City offers free charging stalls at Marina Park Lakeshore Lot, Kirkland Library upper level parking lot, and City Hall.
