Pigeon Forge is one of America’s most popular vacation destinations and conveniently located within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the U.S. population east of the Mississippi River. Our city is in the Eastern Time Zone, and Tennessee changes to Daylight Saving Time in early March and reverts to Eastern Standard Time in early November.

DRIVING TO PIGEON FORGE

Pigeon Forge is located off Interstate-40, and is just a mere 33 miles southeast of Knoxville, four miles south of Sevierville, five miles north of Gatlinburg and five miles north of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Two other interstates run near the city, I-75 and I-81. They and I-40 are all connected to the city by State Route 66 and U.S. Highways 441, 411 and 321.

Please make note that, Tennessee law requires all occupants of motor vehicles to wear seat belts. There is also a mandatory child restraint law that requires children, infant to 12 years of age, to be secured in a child safety seat and/or in the back seat of the vehicle.

GETTING TO PIGEON FORGE BY AIR

McGhee Tyson Airport

McGhee Tyson Airport, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, is 47 miles from Pigeon Forge. Airlines currently serving Knoxville include Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines. Beginning in March 2026, Southwest Airlines will begin flying to and from McGhee Tyson Airport.

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge Airport

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge Airport is located only seven miles away from Pigeon Forge. Located on almost 200 acres, the airport currently has 50 hangars and is home to over 100 aircraft, the Tennessee Hall of Fame, and the Tennessee Museum of Aviation. This airport is for smaller private aircraft flying into our area. No commercial flights are available.
