So I wanna tame one of these bad boys but I was curious before i set out in search of one. I read on the wiki that apparently they seem to like longrass more than kibble, mejoberry and other crops. I was curious as to whether anyone has tested this theory ? and whether this means longrass will tame it quicker? If anyone has any info please let me know! Thanks to all (or any) who answer ^^ < > Showing 1-15 of 16 comments Ralimak View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 3:09pm "(Seems like it prefers Longrass above the other 3, not sure if it is more efficient than the others.)"The wiki is saying the beavers like longrass better than the other 3 types of crops, not over kibble. Poorly worded on the wiki's part. #1 Sgt_Spatula View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 3:17pm If u r still looking i have found a few of them in Hidden Lake. #2 Wise View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 3:30pm im still looking for them i made kibble but the longrass is a good info to know thx #3 Wolf View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 3:49pm sorry I almost died laughing when I saw this title LOLZ #4 Tenoshii View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 5:22pm

Longrass will not tame faster, but I have heard that it tames with higher taming effectiveness than mejoberries. #5 enchanter100 View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 6:30pm Taming a level 12 now, not that bad. #6 Breedy View Profile View Posts 25 Feb, 2016 @ 7:48pm I placed all berries and vege's in the lvl 72 I tamed last night and it ate Citrional before anything else. Also be prepared with LOTS of narc paste as their torpor drops very fast. #7 Xez View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 9:56am excellent thank you all, and yes the wiki seemed oddly worded, cus it had the mejoberries, crop and kibble above where it said about the longgrass, this was what caused my confusion xD hopefully gonna try tame one tonight if i have the time ... i hear they can take 2 hours or so to tame ? xD #8 Tenoshii View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 9:57am Yeah, plan on 2-3 hours if you got a low level one. Can look at the various taming calcs for details, but if I remember right, even a level 1 would take 1.5 hours on berries/veggies. #9 Tsal Vlaxitov View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 10:03am

Crops are crops, tames prefer the first crop you drop in their inventory everytime.Sometimes I think the wiki is authored by people who don't actually play the game. #10 Deadman View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 10:21am Here is a good rule to go by. Crops do not tame any dino significantly faster than mejoberries do. They may "prefer" a crop over a mejo but the difference in taming time is only a handful of seconds. The only advantage crop taming would give you for any dino is that they need to eat "less" times because crops provide more food than berries do, and it also makes their taming effectivness higher than berries. So what would take like 100 mejoberries might only take like 50 crops, but its still the same taming time. Kibble and prime meat over raw meat is the only food that speeds up taming by any significant amount. The real advantage of using crops over mejo berries is higher taming effectiveness. #12 Spacedoge[Court] View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 10:37am

The game pedia wiki for ark lost credibility imo after i found several material recipes incorrect vs ingame requirements.
The in game notes are what's wrong. #13 Tsal Vlaxitov View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 10:39am

Right, and the people who author the wiki wouldn't know that because they don't play the game. #14 Spacedoge[Court] View Profile View Posts 26 Feb, 2016 @ 10:39am

Or just use berries like a sane person. #15 < > Showing 1-15 of 16 comments Per page: 1530 50 ARK: Survival Evolved > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 25 Feb, 2016 @ 3:05pmPosts: 16 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
