Giratina Location - How to Get Giratina

Location Method
Turnback Cave To catch Giratina you first need to defeat the Elite Four and Unlock the National Pokedex. Then, you can find Turnback Cave off of Spring Path, found to the southeast exit of Route 214. This cave is essentially a huge maze - travel it correctly to find Giratina.
To unlock Giratina's Origin Form, you'll need to capture Giratina, get the Distortion Slate at Ramanas Park, and complete a difficult encounter.

Giratina Evolutionary Chain

Giratina does not evolve.

Giratina has two forms: Altered Forme and Origin Forme. While the Altered Forme can be found in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the Origin Forme can only be caught in the Distortion World in Pokemon Platinum.

Players can fight a Level 100 Giratina in its Origin Forme in Ramanas Park. After catching Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, players will receive the Distortion Slate, giving them access to the Distortion Room where Origin Forme Giratina resides. You can't catch it in this form, but will receive a Griseous Orb if you defeat it in battle.
