It bears more resemblance to Gen 5 but Gen 5 parts will not fit, you will need to order parts for the Slimline, or to put it simple, whatever fits the G43. #4 · Aug 21, 2021 Your best bet is to not install any Gadgets. The only thing the gun might need is better sights. #5 · Aug 21, 2021 I know, but as i mentioned before to a nice gentleman in a similar query for some "gadgets", it is a slide racker assist from Vickers, I am 80 years old and my hands are not that strong anymore, I EDC a Glock23 at all times, and that is why I am adding the "helper", this 43X should be lighter to carry and will be my edc...I will install the night sights of my 23 to the new young lady . But for all other intents and purposes it is a Gen 5. What you change on the 43x can be very personal. While there is "nothing wrong" with a stock Glock, there are a number of refinements that can make it smoother and more comfortable to shoot. I've been down that road, done a ton of testing and soul searching to what I like, what I want and what I need. Here's what I think... Sights- The Glock sights work. Is there an inherent reason to change them? Only three that I can think of: 1) You don't like the basketball rear/goal post look. You can always reverse the rear to get rid of the goal posts. 2) Wear and tear. It would take a lot. You may want steel sights for that reason. 3) You want night sights. If you want my recommendation for sight replacement, I highly recommend the Ameriglo Protector sights, either GL-705 or GL-352. Choose the Lumi-green front (not the orange) and you will thank me. It's got a tritium vial plus a light-charged halo. About $60. Trigger shoe- The one that comes on a 43x sucks. The standard (unmodified) Glock design sucks. Why the serrations? Unneeded. My advice? Spend $22 and get a Johnny Glock modified, smooth OEM adjustable trigger shoe. If you don't do anything else, you will thank me later. 20 times more comfortable than the OEM shoe and it also has a set screw so if desired you can remove the unnecessary slop in the take up, or just leave it as you would an OEM shoe. 100 times worth the money and the cheapest/best upgrade you can do straight away. Removing some pre-travel is really helpful for those with smaller hands/shorter fingers but IMO makes the trigger pull feel more refined with a short take-up. JMO If you want a lighter pull, a 4.5 pound striker spring will get you there. The only thing is to test with your ammo to make sure that you don't have any light strikes. With most ammo 4.5 pounds is reliable. If you polish the internals, depending on what you like or need, the lighter striker spring may be too light for you. When you get your 43x don't hesitate to polish all the internal components. Just doing that will drop the trigger pull weight. The connector in the 43x is excellent as is, if polished and the offset from the housing is set properly. The OEM striker spring isn't bad. With polished components a stock OEM configuration my trigger pull weight was 4.5 pounds. So what other "gadgets" are you intending to buy? Insert Quotes Post Reply
