The game says that gnomish engineering is also available but, it is not! Per my own search on this site 'gnomish engineering'! Blizzard has made the quest and the profession obsolete. Guess the people involved got tired of things blowing up and killing themselves! So don't do as I did and run around all day looking for the correct trainer! He doesn't exist and won't any longer! Peace! Comment by leaderavia each specialization provides different teleports.goblin: Area 52 and Everlookgnomish: Toshley Station and Gadgetzan Comment by OreoLover Gnomish Engineering recipes (also, Geosynchronous World Spinner)Teleports: Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan, Ultrasafe Transporter: Toshley's StationLocations: Gadgetzan, Toshley's StationGoblin Engineering recipes (also, Depleted-Kyparium Rocket)Teleports: Dimensional Ripper - Everlook, Dimensional Ripper - Area 52Locations: Everlook, Area 52Have fun choosing one! Comment by R1NN1 Note: As it says you are able to create 10 Big Iron Bombs and Solid Dynamites with the mats above, do not get frustrated as it creates 2x per. So the mats listing were correct. Comment by 1424045 To start this quest as a Horde you must go to Roxxik in Ogrimar, or one of the others in another capital city. Ogrimar has other trainers in engineering, but they cannot start quest. Comment by Skullhawk13 TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS.Goblin hasn't gotten any unique toys in a long time. Gnomish inventions in general will last longer, as many of them are for fun and cosmetic purposes. Goblin should only really be considered if you do not care about the fun stuff, and only want better bombs. But keep in mind, last time they got an improved bomb over gnomish was in cataclsym. On the flip side however, with so few people going goblin, the few exclusives it has will typically sell better.Think long and hard before you make your decision, the teleporters and various items you will contruct will be far more expensive than the quest materials, so switching might not be as cheap as you would be lead to believe. Comment by Kabookiejoe They really need to do away with this quest imoJust let us pick the one we want, without all the nonsense. Comment by rodalpho How to switch your Engineering SpecializationThe "Soothsaying for Dummies" book next to Narain in Tanaris no longer works. It's not interactable. 1) Unlearn Goblin or Gnomish Engineering by opening your Professions tab, then clicking the little red cancel mark next to Gnomish or Goblin Engineering on the right side. IMPORTANT: Do not click the red cancel mark next to Engineering on the left. You want the one next to your specialization. If you click the main one, you will unlearn the entire profession and be forced to start over at 0!2) Talk to Roxxik (H) or Lilliam (A) and accept the quest to switch. Comment by Zapph Grants you the Goblin Engineer specialisation for your Engineering. When you unlearn this or the Gnomish Engineer specialisation by talking to the NPC you got it from or clicking the in your profession panel, you will lose all the related learned recipes but they are still stored in your character's Engineering data as they are all automatically restored if you re-learn the specialisation, even after you take the other one (via Gnomish Engineering) and unlearn it. Comment by sleak I have always wanted a list of all items that each specialization can create and thought it may be handy for others to determine what spec to enter into. Here is the list of items that each specialization can make, separated out depending on whether you need engineering to use the item. Some items are BOP and would require the engineering specialization to make but not necessarily to use after it is made if you wish to drop the profession or specialization. As Blizzard has not added anything requiring a specialization for many expansions, the choice between the two will likely be for collecting and selling toys, mounts and transmogs instead of an advantage in PVE / PVP. I have listed the category that each item falls in for collection purposes.Gnomish Engineer can make: Everyone can use: Any Engineer can use: Gnomish Engineers can use: Goblin Engineer can make: Everyone can use: Any Engineer can use: Goblin Engineers can use: Many people have asked which specialization they should choose, hopefully this list should help them decide. If you are going for transmogs, then you would need a cloth and a leather wearer to go Gnomish while a cloth and mail wearer go Goblin. If you are going for mounts and/or pets, you would need one character in each specialization, but the mounts and pets are also not BoP so you can find a friend to make them for you or buy them off the AH.Once you have the transmogs, mounts and pets you want crafted, you can switch your spec to whichever spec has the toys you want. All the toys can only be used by the specialization that makes it.Gnomish has 3 fun toys as well as portals to Tanaris and Blade's Edge Mountains. Goblin has portals to Winterspring and Netherstorm, but no other toys unique to the spec. Comment by biggaz13 Alliance: To become a Goblin Engineer your toon needs to be at least level 30 and 200 in general Engineering. You then need to create 20 Big Iron Bombs, 20 Solid Dynamite and 5 Explosive Sheep. If you are level 200 Engineer you will already have the schematics to make them. The mats are super cheap on the AH. Once you have made the above items the Engineer Trainer in Stormwind will suddenly have a quest for you to make them (weird in that you have to make them first before he offers the quest!). Just accept and hand them in. He will then give you a choice of Goblin or Gnome Engineering. In this case choose GoblinGo to the flight master in Stormwind and head down to Booty Bay. When there go down to the docks and jump on the ship. The ship takes you directly to 'Ratchet'. Then just fly over to 68 69 and speak to Vazario Linkgrease. He now has available Goblin schematics Problem. You will also need to be a higher level Engineer in Pandaria, Northrend, Cata or Outland skills. He will also have higher level (205+ in Engineering) Goblin schematics. Thus no rush to get over there until you meet the above criteria. Good luck Comment by OceanKobe213 It seems like with the level squish, the level requirement is level 20 as of now. This is what the wowhead page says, so I'm not sure if this is accurate. I'm sure the 200 engineering requirement hasn't changed.EDIT: I can confirm that 200 engineering is still the requirement for both Gnomish and Goblin Engineering seeing as I leveled my basic enginering on an alt today to get the quest to pop up. Comment by xxcrittyxx as of 10.1.7 its level 20 it seems for the quest to appear i maxxed out eng on a level 10 and cannot see it, blizzard why must you make it so you can learn a proffesion at level 10 but cant specialise until a later level this is a classic profession after all let it be there at a level u can learn and max the profession Comment by mraymus I'm confused. I'm at level 300 Classic Engineering, 75 Pandaria Engineering, and 58/75 on Cataclysm Engineering. Do I need to go to 75 on Cataclysm before this quest comes available to me? It's very confusing. Comment by Malistra In 2024, when every other profession's specialized recipes have gone baseline, you still lose your learned Goblin or Gnomish Schematics when you switch. And in an era where they literally give you a list that is meant to appeal to people who are trying to collect everything in the professions tab, this is absolutely maddening. An Engineer can NEVER have a fully completed recipe list. Comment by reyneese As of current patch, this Quest be given at any City Engineering Trainer, for Alliance, probably easiest at Dwarven District, and make use of the Auction House there too. Look for Vanilla Engineering Guide - need 200 skills in Classic Engineeringhttps://www.wow-professions.com/guides/vanilla-engineering-levelingthe Quest can be obtained and completed on the spot. Links Goblin EngineeringBring 20 Big Iron Bombs, 20 Solid Dynamite, and 5 Explosive Sheep to an engineering trainer in any capital city.
