This page covers all Gold blocks, including Gold Ore and Gold Ingot.

Gold is a rare block that is commonly found buried in the bottom forty blocks of the minecraft world. Mine gold with an Iron Pickaxe (or any higher level pickaxe) to yield Gold Ore as a usable Raw Material.

Gold Ore

Block ID: 14

Gold Ore has no use on its own beyond being able to be placed as a block (so it can be used in decoration, for example). In order to use gold for Crafting, you need to first use Smelt it to convert ore to ingots.

Gold Ingot

Block ID: 266

Smelting one block of Gold Ore yields one Gold Ingot brick. Gold ingot, like other ingot materials, can be used for Crafting Armor, Weapons, Buckets and Rails.

Gold Nugget

Block ID: 371

This item is only dropped by Zombie Pigmen in the nether, or by taking a gold bar. Gold Nuggets can be crafted to create Glistering melons or gold bars.

Gold Block

Block ID: 41

Created when putting nine Gold Ingots in a Crafting Table, a Gold Ore Block can be used as a storage method for Gold Ingots, as a decorative block, and as an ingredient for making Golden Apples - a rare and expensive food item.
