Introduction

Goldust is an American professional wrestler with an estimated net worth of $3 Million.

Career

Goldust made his professional debut as “Dustin Rhodes” in September 1988, taking on Bob Cook in a match for Championship Wrestling from Florida.

He moved to World Championship Wrestling soon after and teamed up with Kendall Windham to form the tag team The Texas Broncos.

In 1990, Goldust debuted as a fan favorite in the World Wrestling Federation and his first match pitted him against Paul Diamond.

During the 1991 Royal Rumble, Goldust teamed up with his dad, Dusty Rhodes, but they lost to Ted DiBiase and Virgil in a tag team match.

That same year, he returned to WCW to face off with some of the richest wrestlers in the world and build his fortune.

The Heavyweight Champion

After returning to WCW, Goldust feuded with Larry Zbyszko and Terrence Taylor, after he refused to join the York Foundation.

In 1991, he formed a tag team with Barry Windham and had a title shot at the Clash of the Champions XVII.

However, when Windham was injured, Ricky Steamboat partnered with Goldust, and together they won the WCW World Tag Team Championship.

Goldust competed for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship in 1993 after Rick Rude was stripped of the title.

After facing Ricky Steamboat, he won the title and then successfully defended it against Maxx Payne at SuperBrawl III.

However, after Fall Brawl, Goldust lost the title to Steve Austin in a two-out-of-three falls match where he lost both falls.

Returning To WWF

In 1995, Dustin Rhodes officially debuted his Goldust gimmick as a villain in the WWF, with a gold jumpsuit, face paint, and blonde wig.

While he wasn’t 100% comfortable with the gimmick at first, he decided to run with it and won his debut match against Marty Jannetty.

He then defeated Razor Ramon for the Intercontinental Championship and defended the title against Savio Vega and The Ultimate Warrior.

However, in 1996, he ended up losing the title of King of the Ring to Ahmed Johnson before starting a feud with The Undertaker that summer.

The following year, he entered into a feud with Vader, after revealing himself to be Dustin Runnels, the son of Dusty Rhodes.

At the end of the decade, he won the Intercontinental Championship again but lost it two weeks later to The Godfather.

The WCW, Turnbuckle, & WWE

In November 1999, Goldust returned to WCW and began wrestling as “The American Nightmare,” a reference to his father’s nickname, “The American Dream.”

Speaking of his father, the father-son dup teamed up in 2001 to take on Ric Flair, following his father’s feud with Jeff Jarrett.

That same year, Goldust joined his father’s newly created Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling promotion.

Under the name Dustin Rhodes, he won the TCW Heavyweight Championship from Scotty Riggs and then vacated and returned to the WWF.

When the WWF became World Wrestling Entertainment, Goldust was assigned to the Raw brand, where he teamed up with Booker T.

Goldust then developed a stutter after being attacked by Batista and Randy Orten with a Round Tube and receiving a shock.

He then moved onto the independent circuit until 2005, when he joined up with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling for a year.

Goldust’s Recent Career

Goldust returned to the WWE in 2008 at Cyber Sunday and appeared at the 2009 Royal Rumble, where he was eliminated by his brother Cody Rhodes.

He then spent the following year with ECW before making his debut in the third season of NXT with Aksana as his rookie.

In 2011, he underwent surgery on his shoulder and began working behind the scenes on Raw as a producer.

During this time, he made a few appearances, including when he broke up a brawl between John Cena and Brock Lesnar with other WWE officials.

Goldust made his return to the ring with WWE in 2013 and teamed up with his brother, who was then going by the name Stardust.

However, the pair ended up feuding in 2015, but soon after, Goldust required another surgery on his shoulder and was out for four months.

In 2019, he faced his brother again at All Elite Wresting’s Double or Nothing, and in the end, the two united to face The Young Bucks.

Most recently, he took part in AEW World End in December 2023, but ultimately lost the match to Swerve Strickland.
