Aug 28 2023 2:37 am yeah, this actor is my first love .. my first favorite when im in my teenage young and until now ... still im watching his old movies and films .. like the coffee prince where i saw him and love watching ..it was my first time to watch a korean movie.. and his the best and very professional ... it makes me feel okay when i watching his movies .and the others korean films .. such an inspiration .. he is really the best for me .. hope i someday i will see him in person ... .

I do not recall what initially led me to watch "Coffee Prince" (it was not long after it was released - many years ago) but I will be forever grateful for that show and (of course) Gong Yoo (wow, what a smile!). He/the show was what sparked my interest in South Korean shows. (I have no idea why I never forgot him/that show)
It was not until recently (via COVID) that I discovered that show was not an anomaly. I now prefer watching South Korean shows over all others, particularly my own (US - do not get me started). I am ecstatic at the (now) massive availability of (non-dubbed) South Korean shows across several streaming platforms.
Dubbing non-English shows into English just ruins them ... but I digress. Some day, I would like to learn the language so that I am no longer a slave to subtitles.

Train to Busan, A Man and a Woman, Coffee Prince and Goblin are some of my favourites and show what an incredibly versatile actor Gong Yoo is. He can create great chemistry with all his female leads and other actors. The bromance with ‘Reaper’ and precious relationship with Ji Eun-tak in Goblin were really special highlights for me. Train to Busan is the best Zombie movie ever, with Gong Yoo carrying the lead role superbly. Being an Aussie fan of Korean drama I can honestly say Gong Yoo is one major reason that my initial interest was sparked in watching. What a star and legend...⭐️?⭐️

Aug 09 2019 11:41 pm Just finished watching Big and have to say, Gong Yoo's acting in this drama is outstanding. Throughout the drama, I could see the teenager he was supposed to be, and not the 33 yo he actually was.
He never fails to please in any of the shows he is in. From quirky to straight roles, he is brilliant in them all.

He really loves to tease Sohee, and whenever someones gonna make a comment about Sohee he was always the first one to react lol. If you watch their first V-live interview, he was surprised with a cake for his birthday and after blowing the candles he told the staff that it was Sohee’s birthday days before and she should blow the candle too so he gave Sohee the cake and lit the candle again, isn’t that sweet? In their second VLive interview, he’s also seated next to Sohee and their builds together is definitely heart fluttering. Anyways I didn’t give it much thought before since Sohee qs rumored to be dating Kim Soo Hyun but last week while watching Waikiki I remembered it again and days after there was a news about them walking side by side at a beach together with the T 2 B actors. Call me delusional but I just find them cute.

Besides his good looks and tall statur, he can play a wide range of characters. He is truly talented! I watch everything he is in.

Kim Go Eun exudes such joy at being the Goblin's Bride that it is easy to see why our Goblin finds her "blindingly beautiful". The secondary couples story fits into the history seamlessly. Regrets are part of achieving wisdom so the concept of spending centuries in atonement is compelling. Yes, tragedy rips your heart but each event carries significance and isn't gratuitous. I must say that although Lee Dong Wook is famously gorgeous I found my eyes pulled to Gong Yoo. The character in his expression creates a bond with the viewer that is surprisingly attractive. You believe he is worthy of a miracle. The "Brides" joy in spite of her challenges is magnetic. You believe she too will be worthy of a miracle.

Jul 27 2018 11:09 pm i think he likes romantic comedy and melodramas more than action film, cause the only action film he ever does is "the suspect" which happened to be my favorite, started watching him from goblin to train to busan to the suspect then coffee prince, but i like the suspect the most, would like to see him doing more action movie but i don't think he will ever do another one, still would like to see more action from him though, too bad he's back to being prince charming now, guess i'll go watch the age of shadows.
Jul 27 2018 5:48 am I watched Goblin in 2 days. I cried so much, I never cry. The dynamics between these characters left me speechless. And this actor, Gong Yoo, says many things without ever speaking. His eyes reflect a sorrow that tugs at my soul. He said in an interview that “this drama left a mark on him. And he felt sorrow upon its ending.” I feel that way also. I do not believe in such things. But the piece was so well acted, that I found myself wanting to believe in such things. Imagine being fated in such a way. I may never find a soulmate in this life, as I want that level of love. I find that most people just are not capable of that much soul. I loved this and I hope Gong Yoo can see these comments and know he has left an indelible mark on many hearts. (He and the entire cast)

It was so easy talking to him because there were almost nobody who knew him. We took a picture together. He's a kind man but not so good in English. I really appreciate meeting Gong Yoo. You also don't need to venture into daring, bordering on nudity love scenes to prove you can act. You can pull off any role so long as you stick to your guns. Don't ever sacrifice dignity & self-respect for roles that don't do your level of talent justice. Looking forward to more kickass movies & dramas. Keep on keeping on, bro!

I started to check all of your works, except for A Man and A Woman, I cant stand to see you work as someone unfaithful ?. But I believe you worked well there. Your performance as Dokkaebi is pretty hard though. Kim Go Eun works very well too. Its just the background and the ages gap that makes it even harder to build the chemistry. But you two make it interesting. I think writer Kim Eun Sook adores your nuce personality too. She waited for 5 years to finally got your 'yes' to work with. I wonder if she wrote her story imagining you as his role actor. Did she do it when she wrote Descendants of the Sun? What would the Big Boss be if you were the actor? ??? You've already done quite a few romcom or love story dramas when you were younger but now that you're older & definitely had more experience under you belt, I think the cutesy roles can be left to the younger actors. You, my friend, do well in action, mystery/suspense thrillers. Light hearted comedies, why not? but I enjoy seeing you more on dramas where your character has more depth & substance & doesn't revolve around a woman. It's nice ending and inspiring story as a whole, make this drama one of the best among Korean productions. Gong Yoo easily passed as a 20-year old student although he was 26 then. He is a very good actor, has great personality and character, and is physically fit now that he is 37 years old. I like him when he pretends to be naughty. I hope he will continue to be active in dramas and movies as he grows older because I watched the movie "Train to Busan" and he gave a good performance there. When time allows, I shall watch his other dramas and movies. Good luck Gong Yoo, a great actor!!

Seems like he's biding his time, waiting for the k-drama template to break since lets be perfectly honest, it's formulaic. Rinse, repeat kinda deal with different settings and different people. Same sh*t different city. Plus it's just as enjoyable to see what path he gravitates towards on his own. I feel like he's moving into deeper, darker waters. I don't know if this is calculated by his agency, but I'm assuming he has something to do with being picky with his movies.
I really feel that his mannerisms have won me over. I'm a little cynical about people in the entertainment industry because I feel like I'm being manipulated when they turn on the charm faucet, but I like the way he talks in interviews. I think the awkward acceptance and hesitation speaks of a level of sincerity. At least I would like to believe that he is. I don't know if you ever get to read this Mr. Gong Yoo, but I would like to say that you do what your heart desires. I mean not like you need any validation, but if you're not interested in returning to k-dramas, I hope you prosper in whatever ventures you may seek. Be it another rom-com TV show or a small indie gallery in your home with all the books and CDs that your friends and fans have sent you.

He isn't only sexy and handsome, but also smart, sweet, gentleman and has a beautiful soul. So unbelievable to know a perfect person like him. Beautiful inside and outside.

The first Korean dorama I saw was Korean Coffee Prince, and after that I started looking for more information about him and his work. He through the screen with their performances and really make me feel the feelings of his characters. It makes me happy just when look his works and hear he sing. I'm just amazed. It's a shame that he do not have much contact with Latino fans, here in Puerto Rico has many followers, I include myself among them. American movies just can't come close to the quality of stories and talented actors as, especially Korean videos can! I laughed, cried, smiled with total joy watching your performance in this movie! Though this was the first of your movies/dramas/videos I've seen, it certainly won't be the last! You have a talent and a quality that comes across the screen as genuine! I was barely into the first Episode when you had already become real as Gun. Thanks for the fantastic performance... Keep up the good work as I start to follow your career. But overall love the characters he plays. He really makes me feel as if I'm in the movie playing his co star. Loved you in she on duty, even if it was a small role. Love the ending. Best scene :)

Even though I'm not his fan, I highly admire him for this.

Although this end matched with my desire Gil Da Ran & Kang Gyung Joon (in the Yoon-Jae's body) became a couple but seem it lacked something, this film hasn't attained the peak of emotion yet. Love of main couple also hasn't made the deep feeling. And episode in Big are not really made the strong impression on the audience. I don't know how to express my thinking about it but this film was not satisfy my expectancy though I like Gong Yoo so much (^-*)

I think what attracts me to you is that you look very tough and muscular...very intimidating, but when you speak and act you seem very warm and kind... which is surprising and alluring. It's impressive because that is a hard thing to accomplish.
