Along with being a useful route finding tool, Google Maps is growing in popularity amongst users set on sourcing the globe for out of the ordinary sightings. Recently some viewers noticed a particularly paranormal feature of the technology, which has got users wondering what it could be suggesting. One user posted to Reddit to reveal their alien discovery. They pointed out that when the bird-eye version of Street View is focussed over Area 51, in Nevada, United States, the users mouse suddenly transforms into a UFO.

Users were taken aback to notice their usually white arrow transform into a little green man sat in his silver disc-like spaceship.

Conspiracy theories are rife, speculating regarding its true use, with a group of eager alien enthusiasts recently plotting to storm the facility in hopes of uncovering the truth.
Some theories include that the government are holding captured life forms from far-flung planets inside.

However, there are many other "alien" scenes being uncovered elsewhere in the world.
In a quiet alley way in Split, Croatia, some Reddit users have discovered a woman with a mysteriously alien growth.
Two women appear to be enjoying an average day in the sun, walking around in shorts and vest tops.
They seem unruffled by the out-of-the-ordinary limb one of them is sporting.

One of the women appears to have three legs, something that has led viewers to question whether extraterrestrials really do walk among us.
Some more logical viewers have also stepped in though, pointing out the additional limb is more likely to be a photography glitch.
The Google camera works by taking multiple images and then stitching them together to create a seamless panoramic shot.
