Graduation ceremony start and finish times

What time does my graduation ceremony commence and how long does it take?

Answer ID 218 | Last updated on 10/02/2025 11.21 AM

Once you have collected your regalia, you are required to arrive one hour before your ceremony at the Gillett Promenade, at the North-West corner of Winthrop Hall (outside the main hall entry) from where you will process to Winthrop Hall.

Ceremony start times are listed on the Graduations website and also in studentConnect.

Your guests will need to be seated no later than 30 minutes before the commencement of the ceremony. Entry into Winthrop Hall and the Live Streaming venue is unreserved and by ticket only.

Formal proceedings will commence at the nominated time of your ceremony and the duration of the ceremony will be approximately 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the number of graduands graduating.

Light refreshments and photography/framing services are available after the event.
