What do I wear to a graduation photoshoot?

Your graduation gown and cap are essential for key shots. Underneath, opt for smart, comfortable attire that reflects your personality – perhaps a dress, a suit, or a smart-casual outfit. 

Will graduation gowns be provided?

Yes. However, please be reminded that graduation gowns and hats are only available upon 1 week advance request. (Gowns are NOT stored in the studio.)We do not have “all the gowns from all schools”. They are plain black graduation gowns. Not from any specific schools.

How many settings will there be?

There will be 3 or more different settings for each Graduation Photo Session. See here for the pictures we can achieve in one session!

Where are the graduation photos taken?

All graduation photoshoot sessions are taken in Oh Dear Studio’s space. If you have a different location in mind, please let us know so we can assist you.

What is the best time of day to take graduation photos?

For outdoor shoots, the “golden hours” – shortly after sunrise or before sunset – offer soft, flattering light. This helps avoid harsh shadows and squinting. If shooting in a studio, timing is flexible as lighting is controlled, allowing for any time that suits your schedule.

What should I prepare for the graduation photoshoot?

If you wish to use your own graduation gown and cap, ensure they are pressed and ready. Plan your outfit underneath and any desired props like your degree scroll, class ring, or items related to your course. Get a good night’s sleep, and come with any hair and makeup ideas you have.
